  1. Maybe try posting in the Quebec section, there might be someone close by that could lend you spare parts/bindings. Sorry to hear, that sucks. Keep those parts too as Fin might be interested in seeing the damage for R&D. EDIT: duh, just checked Quebec section and noticed you already did. Hope you find something!
  2. I've never ridden a Madd but it has always piqued my interest especially after hearing a lot of the pioneer riders speak so fondly of it. I'm following this closely and will hopefully get a chance to feel what this is all about in the next year or so. Really cool venture. I didn't know who Shaggy was until I was snapping some pics at ECES last year. Amazingly fluid rider. From what I saw, he rips on Madd's. (Shaggy I'll remove this pic at your request)
  3. Socks, socks, socks...if you haven't started there. + Smartwool Phd (there's also an amazing Bridgedale sock but can't remember the name). My feet used to get so cold because I was sweating so much and my socks (mid-range poly wigwam) weren't pulling the moisture away from my foot. I tried the smartwool after having great success with their hikers and it made a huge difference. Mind you, this year I was riding in insanely cold temps of -25C at night time and was using HotHands Foot Warmers (chemical packs) in my UPZ RC10 and my feet have been comfy. I have ditched all my synthetic socks for sports in favour of merino wool because the wool is so efficient and effective in regulating temperature inside footwear (both in warm and cold weather) and transferring moisture away from your feet. Also to echo some of the other comments, consider custom footbeds and liners. My circulation has been a lot better since getting fitted properly with Deeluxe/Palau liners and footbeds.
  4. I'm out for Wednesday Edelweiss...something came up, argh. Possibly Thursday night if all goes well.
  5. Wednesday night Edelweiss. Might try and get there late afternoon.
  6. The reason I've heard most often is that when Burton pulled the plug (2004ish?) on alpine, that was it...for mainstream anyhow. They started to sell jibber lifestyle
  7. Edelweiss, tomorrow morning. Should be great conditions

    The Loaf

Bonz...what are conditions like at the loaf? Pics?
  9. Spring Season Pass Edelweiss $59 https://transaction.mssi.ca/ecommerce/en/ItemShow.aspx?Dep=T1x+UM9Syf0FGS2nItXF8A==&Cat=+I6eilQTPONU4bJ1/tnIDQ==&It=K1ZQ9i3bsnY= Go twice and it's paid for.
  10. I have Deeluxe liners that are tagged "Palau" from YYZ. Super warm and amazing performance when fitted properly. I upsized my liner - 28 in a 27/27.5 UPZ RC10 and for me this is good. Like Stephane, I had mine fitted at Stratton and got custom footbeds but fit like a glove and have no issues with heel movement (or any excess movement for that matter) for my average size and shaped feet.
  11. Is the "twist" in the specs? Nice topsheet!
  12. I had to drill out a similar rivet on my HSP to refit an old dalbello strap. That quarter size piece on the Head's was indeed metal and was part of the rivet from what I remember. I drilled through the rivet from the outside in starting with pilot and working way up. I still have the piece somewhere I'll see if I can dig it up and take a pic to compare.
  13. I bought Ibex toe bails from YYZ Canuck a couple years ago and center disks. It still looks like they might sell parts...fire off an email to Dave/Andrea. Great to deal with as well.
  14. Nice stick! Specs please! What inspired the topsheet?
  15. Are you turning soft this year?! P.S. Great boots btw

    Blue River

Not to worry about the chop!....I was laughing at the credits....identifying boots....ballet. I suppose that's for the non-hardboot crowd? And to get a chuckle from the alpine riders.

    Blue River

Great vid...lol credits Pow and Intec? Not too stiff? What angles are you running on the board?
  18. Therein lies the rub... Now you are suggesting that super-awesome Joerg among many other amazing "older" riders are disconnected from the basics of snowboarding? Quite the contrary. We ALL adapt and evolve with our riding style/technique as we age, changing body type, from injuries, from equipment changes, the people we meet and ride with. More importantly we all have lots to share and learn from each other because of these adaptations and learning/adjustment curves. And skiers/snowboarders in lift line and on lift always first talk about my board, bindings, boots. I'm sorry, cliff jumps? Please, make this stop....someone. P.S. Sorry to perpetuate this Bobby

    Rainwear

I was at one mountain in Quebec and they were handing out garbage bags when it was pouring rain mid-March. Worked surprisingly well and was hilarious to see the lift loaded and folks coming down all wearing plastic bags with holes punch through. Didn't get too hot as they were so baggy.
  20. As of now I'm in! JKarve - welcome! Are you all set up with gear?
  21. Were you thinking anywhere in particular?
  22. Did anybody else notice what's coming next week? Woo...although we're still a few days off and they have been known to be wrong
