  1. Hi still interested. l am in Calgary Canada. How much for shipping please?
  2. Hello Mr. Beagle, VERY curious to know how you find this set up! l have JUST ordered the same boots with the same red spare tongues. Please drop a comment or two once you've had a chance to try them (^_^)
  3. OK fair enough... let me create an image for you... Picture many groomed runs ranging from green to what l would call moderate red for the most part. Nothing steep is groomed, anyway. The quality of cord is variable and often on the poor side because the groomers cannot keep up with the snowfall. lt can get a little bumpy but nothing serious unless you take a wrong turn. Then you're in for a treat because the bumps are cut by mostly 160cm skis. Otherwise, groomed runs are fairly wide on some blue runs but the reds and one black one are perhaps approaching the width of a typical ski race course. Still the BXn?
  4. Maybe this has been done before. Sorry... l'm kinda new. Just wondering what length board you'd be inclined to ride. l know that there are tons of variables like location, conditions etc... l'm just curious to know what you would be most likely to grab if someone said to you "c'mon let's go!" Only one board... there's limited space in the car (^_-)
  5. Two big jumps for me. First one was in 1991. l was living in the UK at the time and wanted to go for a long holiday in France. There was(is) a company called Action Vacances which incorporated youth hostel styled lodging, rental and instruction at an all-inclusive price. l spent a week at Tignes... 6 days/5 hrs each day... being taught by professional hard boot riders. The following week l went to La Plagne for more of the same. That was the first massive leap forward... 60 hours of lessons in two weeks. The next one came in February 1995. At that time l was working in Val d'lsere. I stepped off of my old Nidecker asym and onto a symmetrical 166 cm board which l coupled with new Burton Reactor boots. From the first run l was astounded at the difference.... my turns were SO much cleaner! Hopefully the next one will come this winter with new gear and a day or two riding with BlueB (^_^)
  6. I'll give you $10 for it!
  7. Sorry the T700's didn't work out. Hope you can find a boot soon!
  8. You are absolutely right. l need to stop asking questions. Information overload is doing my head in! If l'm not careful l will end up ordering another board... and then the wife will have to pull out her big stick again
  9. l'll be the first one in line when you bring an Expression Session to Niseko!!!
  10. Just curious... Which Prior is that in your pic... the one with the totem pole graphic?
  11. This is very interesting. l have no experience with new tech at all, however with my old board l used to love diving into the turn and then using the "g"s on the way out to literally catapult me into the next turn, often catching air off the tail. With VSR will that "bounce" be gone from the back end? lf so l may be better off looking at a WCRM instead of an FLC.... or l will need to do something with my technique to get the most out of VSR. l don't like traversing all that much... just enough to finish off my previous turn. lt seems counter-intuitive to ride the nose all the way through a turn if one wishes to make a smaller radius turn. l've always finished hard on the tail, or at least centered on the board.
  12. Cool looking board. My wife picked up the baby of the bunch.
  13. +1000! l have polluted his inbox for more than a month and he has exercised the patience of a saint! Looking forward to riding with you and Scooby next month (^_^)
  14. Awesome! Thank you for the links and comments, everyone. Boat loads of info for me to ponder. 3 more weeks until my season starts.... can't wait!
  15. I saw video of you riding in Nakiska Corey... you RIP!
  16. Good point. l am a weekend warrior which means having to deal with the mobile obstacle course on just about every run. Speed is fun but the opportunity to really open it up doesn't come around as often as the need to change direction NOW. Perhaps a perusal of what's being flogged in the Classifieds isn't such a bad idea.
  17. Thank you Phil and Snowman.... l got a lot out of your posts and those links! l think l have read JM's report two or three times, now.... and l have a mental grip on float as well. Going on what you were saying, Phil... you cease to get support at very high speeds. ls this due to length or side cut... or both? You commented about some people putting GS SCRs on shorter boards... l wonder if one could put a smaller side cut on a longer board? Not 170+ long but high 160's long? There was a guy who was selling a Coiler AMT 172 on here a few weeks back... Mark Pinch l believe. He had that board custom made with a 10.5M SCR. That sounds like a very interesting combination. l wonder how something like a Prior FLC 169 wide would ride with a 10/12 SCR instead of an 11/13?
  18. They are out now. l just bought a copy of each to send to Silver in France.
  19. Fair enough... The reason l am asking is because looking at some of the maker's websites there are GS boards from as short as 163 to over 185 and side cuts that range from 10M to 17M.... with a blend of SCRs also available. l haven't seen much on the slalom side. Just wondering if a bigger side cut can still do smaller turns and a smaller side cut can crank out the big ones.... and why would one be preferable to another.
  20. On modern boards, what would represent a typical slalom radius? What would be the extremes for a slalom radius? l would also appreciate it if someone could answer the same question re: GS side cuts.... typical GS and extremes. Thanks!
  21. Sounds an awful lot like a 169 wide Prior FLC!
  22. I ran 3* out back and flat up front on Burton race plates and it seemed fine. My angles were quite different to what l have seen being used here... 48B/57F and around a 19" stance. Plan on experimenting this year.
