  1. Well... She has almost no snowboarding experience... nothing on a carver. l have personally been down the road of having a few different boards for different conditions but always ended up back on my 21cm waist free-carver(Sims CON 166) regardless of resort, terrain or conditions. With that in mind probably one board only to start with... and it needs to do everything. The conditions at our local resort are mostly soft snow as in bottomless powder, machine groomed and then the odd hard packed day. Not really ideal for a carving board, l know, but l have been riding hard boots exclusively since 1988 and have no plans to switch. l had to ride softies for my CASI l & ll.... what a nightmare! No idea how l passed.... my evaluator must have been in a very good mood. So yeah... a carving board that isn't a total pig in the powder would be cool. Any suggestions on length for her size?
  2. Hiya! My better half has expressed an interest in alpine carving. There are quite a few used boards available right now so perhaps with a bit of guidance l can find something just right. She is 5'1" tall, about 48kgs, super strong and FEARLESS! She was a GS ski racer who had to train with the boys team because the girls team wasn't challenging enough! Her boot shell size is 24. We ski together and spend most of our time in the trees searching for soft snow. She can ski anything with style. Whatever board l buy for her needs to be able to get into powder. Of course l am going to teach her how to carve... but l don't want a board that is too far on the side of race... or too stiff to enjoy the powder days. Free carving is the way to go. I have never shopped for someone this small before. If someone could give me an idea what to consider, l would really appreciate it!
  3. Thank you, Jim. I have linked this thread to my Paypal contact. I appreciate your offer to assist me if it becomes necessary (^_^) Buell.... it's all good. The link www.oldsnowboards.com provided in his first post is all I need. It's still working!
  4. Ms. Price escalated the dispute to a claim after l told her that l would refuse to receive the board and have it returned to sender. Her last comment before escalating to claim was that this board was a stock standard 4WD and that l should educate myself before making false accusations.
  5. Interested in the 153 Rossi only. How much please?
  6. Hi Angie, Thanks for your post and support(^_^) Paypal have a link to this thread so if they do even a modest amount of investigating it should be clear what has transpired. Hopefully a decision will come soon and l can focus on my plans for the winter!
  7. Hi, Unfortunately the dispute was escalated to a claim.... by Ms. Price. She did not care for my "accusations" that the board in question was not a stock 4WD. She completely refuses to accept that this board is a softer flexing board built from the Prior factory for a female buyer... and is trying to force me to take the board and resell it myself. l told Ms. Price that IF she could prove to me it was, in fact, a stock 4WD l would be happy to keep it. l am sorry that it has turned into a rather ugly situation. l understand that Ms. Price is in somewhat dire straits and do not wish to add to her already sizable list of challenges. ln any case, lf the Paypal staff do their homework l believe they will make the right decision.
  8. Thank you all for your posts. Bryan, l am willing to remove this thread. l would appreciate it if you would keep the thread that you linked me to re: the history of this snowboard open and available for viewing if necessary, though. By the way... HI everyone...LOL! Hope to catch up with you elsewhere in the forums (^_-)
  9. PM sent. l believe it would have been appropriate to list the board as having been specially built with a softer flex for lighter riders. That would have been enough information... and correct. I do not wish to turn this thread into a flame war. My apologies for joining this forum under less than favorable conditions. Hopefully this situation can be rectified in the near future and l can enjoy being part of the Bomber community.
  10. Sweetsooziep sold the board to me on eBay without telling me it had been made for you, Angie. When l expressed interest in buying other items she had for sale, she directed me to this website and her sales listing so l could see pictures. lt was there that l discovered the history of this board. When l confronted her about the info l found on this site, she removed her listing. We are now in a Paypal dispute. l bought the board in good faith. l have wanted a Prior 4WD for a long long time and was thrilled to find one for what appeared to be an excellent price. Too good to be true, it seems.
  11. Hiya, Trying to track down a good pair of hard boots for the wife. lf anyone has a pair in the above stated size please let me know. Also interested in a 150's board. She's 5'1" 110lbs and a beginner.. but used to GS ski race so should pic it up fast. Thanks!
  12. Still have the race plates with the 3 degree cant?
  13. Thanks guys! www.oldsnowboards.com REALLY appreciate that link (^_^)
  14. Hi... There was a classified ad on here yesterday from sweetsooziep that had a white Prior 4WD snowboard for sale.... l believe she wanted $200. l followed a thread inside her listing asking whether this board was manufactured 30% softer because the board was made for a woman. She bought it for her son to use for bordercross. Could someone please verify that this snowboard from this seller is actually 30% softer? There was a whole conversation linked to her sales post about whether or not the board she was selling was the softer board in question.... but l see that her sales advert has been removed. Any information on the board would be really appreciated. l have wanted a 4WD ever sine they came out and l want to be sure that l am possibly buying the correct board for my needs . l am a 42 yr old man 170 lbs athletic and have been riding hard boots since 1988. Thank you (^_^)
