  1. Hi Nick - sent you a reply - let me know if it didn't get through.
  2. Hey folks, Looks like I may have a week in AB in the last full week of March. Any recommendations on where to go & what to bring? I gather that there are a few options within a 4-hr drive of Edmonton. Marmot Basin? Nakiska? Lake Louise? I'm not keen on crowds, so I'm hoping it's not a school break week. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave
  3. The Coiler PR 173 was my first board, bought used here. I would have learned faster on a shorter board. Beckmann pointed this out to me on a lesson, fortunately in the presence of my wife, introducing her to the concept of a quiver without my having to say anything. I picked up a well used 163 Renn Tiger, which I feel is an excellent learning board for someone of my weight. I would echo the advice on something in the 153 SL range for your weight. The 173 is a wicked fun and quite a soft board for me now, but it certainly unnerved me before I learned to flex it. I wouldn't recommend it for you starting out. Good luck!
  4. Thanks, Steve. Missed you at the hill today.
  5. Ok, pics to follow later tonight ...
  6. This board is in pretty good shape base-, edge-, and top-wise. However, it is basically flat - i.e., no camber left, hence the low price. It still carves well, and is damp on edge, but is softer in the nose and turn-ier than it used to be - more like a slalom than a GS. It works well for me at 160 lbs, and probably for lighter riders as well. The inscription on the side says: SB 173 PRC 06L01 - 5.8 I believe SB refers to Superboard construction. $125 plus shipping. Mackinds At Me Dot Com Pic to follow
  7. Hi, Sent you an e-mail. I think I have what you're looking for. Dave
  8. Turned 50 in August. Havin' a great time!
  9. Hi Tim, I'm the one who bought the Donek. I thought I had replied to your PM about riding, but must not have. We'll have to meet up next season. Sandy (skraker) was great to deal with as a seller. He sent me extra pics and answered all my questions and the board arrived quickly and as described. No harm in making him an offer. Best, Dave
  10. Yep, gone to Halifax. It's a surprisingly soft and turn-y board. Good luck in your search! Dave
  11. Board is sold. Thanks, Bomber! Thanks, Dr. Schwartz!
  12. You're second in line right now. I'll let you know if cafe bomber doesn't take it. Thanks, Dave
  13. I bought this board from a fellow BOLer last year, but it is too stiff for me at 160 lbs. The board is in very good condition in all respects except that the topsheet is covered with clear contact paper which has flaked away in several small areas and has yellowed around where the bindings were mounted. The topsheet itself is fine, as are the base, edges, and camber. The contact paper is difficult to remove, so neither I nor previous owners have bothered. World Cup Construction and a stiffness rating of 7.7, for those familiar with Coiler specs. Inserts are recessed. I can supply longer mounting bolts that worked with my TD1s if needed. Asking $150 plus shipping.
  14. I'll have my Coiler 166 slalom in the vehicle as well. Yellow coat, yellow helmet. Dave
