  1. Got my FR2 bindings delivered Monday. Rode them Wed. Nice binding. So, CATEK is still around and they should be for a while. It is my understanding that Jeff is busy with personal stuff still. However, he intends to keep CATEK alive and even plans to develop some new stuff in the future. So, if you are concerned about ordering products, dont be. It just may take longer to get them right now.
  2. The board will be at Sugarloaf on Dec 23 24 25 for viewing and testing.
  3. The metal bindings are sold.
  4. Try clipping your toenails for once.
  5. These bindings are for sale now. I tried them today. They work great and the canting sytem rocks. They ride alot like a plate system. My feet felt isolated and the board rode smoothly. I was able to change my rear foot canting/lift in the liftline no problem. Definately cool looking bindings. However I prefer my C60's. Somebody make an offer on these things.
  6. Yes the board is nice. It is actually a Kawasaki KX 250 that is hard to keep on the trail when the power-band kicks.
  7. If you are in Boston then it'll be easy for you to race the Maine Mt Series sbx races at Sugarloaf and Sunday river. Check out USASA snowboarding. Buy a Donek Saber built to your size and weight. Burton doesnt make boards that will suit your size and riding style. Unless you can find a custom x wide 168. 27 degrees front 6 degrees back. 23 inch stance. Malamutes will do. Check out Salomons new top of the line carbon bindings.
  8. Yes. I have some brand new CATEK freeride bindings. Jeff is alive and did manage to send my bindings. Thank you CMC! I spent 3 hrs putting these together, tweaking and mounting them. Holy crap! With the advice from an experienced carver, I will give these puppies a try tomorrow (Wed 12/14). If they do not explode into 1 million different parts and I love them, I will remove this post. If I dont like them, then they will be for sale. Assembled, with 2 extra brand new heel cups for $500.00 shipped anywhere in the USA dude!. And, as an added bonus I will promise to respond to emails! Attached is a photo of these incredibly cool looking bindings mounted on my new Saber. If this setup doesnt blow my mind then I will switch to skiis. If you are wondering why I would charge $500.00 shipped. Its because I am just a nice guy. I have already put them together and I cant get that time back. Besides, with 2 extra heel cups, how can you go wrong?
  9. Here is a Prior WCRM 177. I bought this from Prior this fall. It is supposed to be Chris Priors personal stock prototypye blah blah blah. It has a "pro tune" from Prior and appeared to have been ridden for a few runs based on the TD3 footprints on the topsheet. I have personally ridden it for about 50 runs or so. I shaped the edges at 3 degree side and 0.75 base. I waxed it 3 times already. All I am going to say is that I am too heavy for this one. This would be a great board for a lighter rider. The color is cool. And it has a smooth ride. I will polish the edges and slather on some wax and bag it and ship it for you. Dont miss out on the green machine.
  10. Here is my Donek Saber made for me last season. It has around 30 days on it. It has UPM inserts. It is 262 mm wide. It has a base grind from Best tunes in Bethel maine. It has been waxed alot. The edges are full of life. Good for a rider under 175 lbs.
  11. Perhaps a cmc machine can help catek
  12. Anybody that has ordered stuff from CATEK will most likely get it before Christmas. The CMC machine is fixed.
  13. Join the club. You are not the only one that this has happened to. Yes those boards are great. But they just dont last. That is the problem with Titanal boards. A great, short life span. My front binding did the same thing. Ive seen this with other metal boards first hand. And never ever with non metal boards. I think its not just delam issues but moreover the useful lifespan of this design. They wear out quickly and lose their "snap" much sooner than glass based boards. Buyer beware of second hand metal boards. You just dont know how many days are left in them. After my first delam, I found another second hand full race board. No delam yet but I feel like it just doesnt have any power left in it. I have since put my faith in another new metal board from Canada. This will be my final effort and Im hoping this design will withstand my abuse (carving turns). The only other way I can see getting the most out of metal boards are to buy new, use for the season and sell in spring to someone else. But that wouldnt be very nice would it. Beware Flywalker, dont post too many photos of the damaged board or you could be censored or banned from BOL. Just wall mount that thing and buy a Donek.
  14. Seems like the CATEK site is certainly taking CC orders (and my money), but nobody is home. No product, no response, nothing. So, looks like they are done then? Still taking peoples money though. Not sure what to do. Wait for CATEK to re-appear, or file a fraud case with the bank. I'd hate to think CATEK is done with though.
  15. No response to my inquiries as well. I contacted my bank.
  16. Same story with me as well. Bummer. I finally pulled the trigger on these things and it seems they are out of the picture. Lets hope he decides to make some more. Happy turkey day.
  17. I realize this has probably been brought up a thousand times here on BOL. But, Fin? would you ever develop a freeride binding? I mean, you could use the same base and just make a heelcup to attach and aquire the use of carbon highbacks and burly straps ect.
  18. Thanks for the feedback. Looks like Ill order some threadlock and find some marine grade nylox nuts and bolts. Nice looking bindings anyhow. Ive seen them before and always thought they would be the ****.
  19. Im looking for C60 and CO2 bindings or parts. Also looking for just the highbacks from either of these models in medium or large.
