    Yo Lci!!

Dammit the website won't process an Aussie credit card. :(
  2. Any ETA on these things? I need bindings before Dec 16th.
  3. Sweet, thanks mate. Would be good to catch up with you guys at Loveland one weekend.
  4. Well, as the title says guys, anyone up for a run or two during these dates? Used to work as a lifty at Copper and Loveland, so I'll be hitting these two places up a bit. Most of the people I knew have moved on though so some new riding buddies would be cool. What do people recommend for cheap tix and accommodation? Anyone got a spare couch? :P Cheers benno
  5. Transport options to Loveland were almost non-existent when I worked there in about 2002 or so... might have improved but I doubt it. Shame about the dates you're out there mate, I arrive in Co on the 16th and expect to be up in Summit from about the 18th to the 28th.
  6. I have a titanal Donek Axxess 167 on order ;-) White with the surf print. Should be sweet.
  7. That'll teach the mongrels to ski! <hides skis under bed> So anyway, I'm doing an anatomy/dissection project specifically about skiing and knee injuries (ACL, MCL, meniscal tears etc). Not being an alpine skier (snowboard or tele only), I have a question: do modern bindings release only from the toes? No heel release? That's what this website is claiming, but I could swear most bindings I've seen have a DIN adjuster on the heel block...
  8. Wow, this thread is still kickin! (first time I've logged onto bomber for years) Wish I could make it, but I'm stuck on the snowless Gold Coast with no time or money to get away...
  9. SWEET! Some of those instructors gave me so much grief about my gear.
  10. A skier was kicking the back of my board continually. I gave him a few dirty looks. He did it again, my mate turned around to give him a dirty look, then said to me 'push your board back right now' I kicked it backwards pretty hard, and heard someone falling over. He was leaning on his ski pole adjust his boots! hehe
  11. lol, bondage boards, love it!
  12. sorry to hijack, Anyone here carve in tele boots and could tell me what it's like? I have a similar situation in that I have trenchdiggers on my board and bishops on my tele skis, and it'd be great if I could use just one pair of boots! but then I'd have to get new snowboard bindings.... I want some intec tele boots and bindings dammit! Benno
  13. I'm in.... Make it a weekend so I can get there! I might fly down... Benno
  14. hey moz, let me know when and I'll be all over it like a rash! what mtn were you thinking? benno
  15. Hey Mozzman, when's your website gonna be back up? Keen to have a look, I've only seen one other carver in Aus that I didn't already know! BTW I've flown in/out of Aus with heaps of gear (boards, skis, bikes, climbing gear, sometimes all of it on the one trip) and never had a problem. Now to get back (almost) on topic, I wish I could be there, sounds like a blast! But I have to ask, Michelle, how come you guys aren't doing some of the other resorts in Summit like the other years? Aspen does have some of the best groomers around though drool....... And who was at SES '04? I had to work unfortunately. I was kinda dissapointed that I didn't see a SINGLE CARVER ride my lifts (Rendezvous/Sierra) at Copper!! Wassup with that? Tear it up guys, make a few turns for me. Benno
  16. Just get some friends who suck at snowboarding for those sorts of days ;) Like D-Sub said, it's just lack of practice. You need more time on the hill! (don't we all?) I notice it most when I'm on tele's (still learning) or the wakeboard (it's summer here). All you can do is back off the pace and cruise. And, to state the obvious, riding when hung over is always like that! Done that a few too many times ;) Benno
  17. I used to work in lift ops and the other guys (who've never ridden with me)would always give me grief about my gear... occasionally i would ride with someone that i haven't before and they inevitably said after a few runs through the trees "dude, you can actually ride with that thing" which i guess is about as close as you'll get to praise from a lifty! but the best thing I've seen was as I was going back up the chair checking out my own line and watching a skier maching it down, he saw my line and stopped to check it out, looking up and down the hill for a good 30 secs wondering what the hell it was! ;) and I was riding Winter Park with my uncle (who was on a skwal) on a powder day, when some guy pullled up next to us as we were taking a breather and said "what the hell is that thing, I've been following this deep ass trench for ages!" I guess he saw a line in the snow and followed it down to us. fun times....
  18. I have a 177 Coiler All mtn that is just not being ridden and would prolly be better off in someone else's quiver. It was built for a 75 kg rider. Blue in colour, 21.5 cm waist. I'm in colorado and it would be best if you could pick it up. USD 300 cheers, benno
