  1. More Bomber House party action... Babe Magnet Snowboard Yoga WTF???
  2. Interesting take from Jake Burton. He even comments about step in bindings. http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-gear/snow-sports/snowboards/Whats-Next-for-Snowboarding-A-Conversation-With-Jake-Burton.html?page=all
  3. In the mens room from a skier while at the urinal... "Dude what is wrong with your boots. Do those springs actually do anything or just for show" Answer- "They just make me look cool" "Right on"
  4. "Lean into corners like a motorcycle while sitting in a race car position. Brush the snow with your hand as you corner whether its powder or packed, backcountry or resort." http://www.snolosleds.com/ $3,000! I would like to see that business plan.
  5. I will be at Hemlock this coming weekend both days with multiple boards (carving and powder). If anyone is around let me know. Went once last month and loved the crowds-nonexistent.
  6. Interesting story/conclusion for my saga... Last Thursday evening 1/3 I call "Clifford" to inquire about the board being advertised for sale. Did not identify myself, just asked general routine questions like "How old is the board?", "Why are you selling it?", and the always classic "Where did you get it from?". Clifford said he bought it a year ago from a relative and had actually never used it because it had "weird" bindings. :) Claimed it was about 3 years old total (not) and was worth $800. I told him I would think about it. Then called the Sheriff and discussed my situation with a deputy. "Do you have a serial # or receipt?" he inquired. Nope. I said just give me your email and I will send you some web links. I emailed him the link to to this thread on BOL and the Craigslist ad. Also had a few more pictures saved. My original robbery report had listed a Prior 4WD blue snowboard. Friday late morning I received a call from the Deputy who took my call Thursday. Said he had just called Clifford and was arranging to meet him later that day. Friday afternoon I received a second call from the Deputy. "I have your snowboard at the precinct office!" He and another deputy went to Clifford's house (not the sharpest tool in the shed) and took a statement from him. Clifford confessed to buying it from a dude named Jesse. Deputy told me that Jesse and his brother who used to live in Sultan were linked to over 60 house breakins in WA, CA, and NV. Apparently Jesse was apprehended in NV during a police chase during wheich he shot a gun at police. He is serving sentence in Nevada prison. Due to the connection with Jesse, my original report, AND this thread the two Deputy's confiscated the board from Clifford. No cash to Clifford. Today (Sunday) on my way back from a great day of carving I stopped by the precinct office. I like how they included Bomber on the proprty ticket. SWEET! A HUGE THANK YOU to all the BOL forum members who assisted!!! This is a great example of the power of a community harnessed in a good cause. Spread the word- Do not mess with BOL carvers! We will find your ass.
  7. Typical. "How old is that board?" I did not have the heart to tell him it was brand new and first day on snow.
  8. Let's narrow the scope a bit. Have been to Europe exactly 17 times...but never in winter. Very familar with small villages throughout the Alps. Was whitewater kayaking in every country with mountains including my fav place-Corsica. Have actually stayed at Val d'Isere and hiked near Zermatt. Mainly looking for SUPERB carving snow conditions, minimal crowds, and yes culture is a plus. Heli not my thing.
  9. Turning 50 in March. Doh! Want a special trip of snowboarding/carving that will be extra memorable for many years. Was just thinking of going to SES (have never been) in February but wanted to get other opinions. MT, WY, BC, etc. all good options but what about Switzerland? Money not an issue for a special trip. Can make a 9-10 day total trip. Wife will come also so some non-slope activities are a plus. XC, etc. I like March for lower cost, less crowds, and actual event. Also will have legs in top shape.
  10. BC Brothers. I moved over the summer and am now SE of Bellingham-Sedro-Woolley area. Roughly equal drive for me to Grouse, Cypress, and Hemlock Valley. Which do you reccomend for weekends?
  11. Beautiful music... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/INOVuZQsxKQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  12. The best damn rock live album of all time! Blackmore's guitar solos are awesome. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hFKDSWwM4fw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  13. Thanks Dave for The Theivery Corp. Great sound. You might like Luka Bloom. Beautiful sounding acoustic guitar. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/BT1-P6p28Wc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  14. If you click on this song, you are required to play it LOUD, especially for one of the best bass solos ever recorded. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lkCrO9lQJP8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  15. Another gem from my glory days. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_GA89EfQ0Pg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  16. We need some new threads on non snow related activities. Post links to music that turns you on. To start off here is the newly remastered King Crimson "Lizard" LP from 1970. I used to get so STONED to this and play it LOUD! Circa 1978-80. Put your feet up and enjoy this classic. Real treasure. "Prince Rupert Awakes" is awesome. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Lk3UNLx2SzI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  17. Hey...retired Microsoft people don't count.
  18. Removed all my TD step ins today, put them all away in a box. Boards waxed and in the garage for another season. Left the soft boot bindings on. This is always a difficult day for me....
  19. Cost of carving??? Whatever. The value of spending "down" time in a deep low high speed arc is priceless. I can go for days with the memories of certain turns. Who cares what that costs? Life is short.
  20. 32 days total, all at Stevens Pass. Final day 4/15. Too cheap to travel this year. Started late due to shoulder surgery. Last year 42 days. 9 days were on my new North Fork Pow Reaper, and 6 of those were bottomless, so by far my best powder season. The combination and variety of powder in trees and high speed groomer carving was cool!
