  1. Paul, there was a lot of melting going on, pretty much anything that wasn't piled up melted. Doesn't sound like the storm Friday night is aimiing for us anymore. Come on jet stream bring us some snow. The mt. has been freshening up with new snow making all this week. Saturday in the bowl is do-able, going to ask for some more ride time as I'll be monster trucking in the afternoon. EZE
  2. The crowds sucked this weekend. Friday I was there at quarter of 8 and parked in the back of 1st lot:barf snow was good crowds sucked. Saturday the snow had spent the entire night melting at 50 degrees, snow sucked and crowds sucked. Sunday with all the melting the fog was thick. Only rode to lower mountain as you couldn't see anything after halfway up the North Peak triple, snow sucked but no crowds. Lynx is open didn't get a chance t ride it, VERY disappointed that they cut moguls onto Flying Goose, it was great for two weeks while it was groomed flat. I will be in the beginner area on Friday afternoon and will be riding my two hours both Sat/Sun. Monster Trucks at the Verizon Arena at 2pm Saturday vroom, vroom. 3 year old is gonna love it.
  3. They go to ride that little train that takes you back and forth between lodges when you get lost and end up at the wrong one. I thought Loon was to far north for Cougars maybe Pumas, and the MILF is a bird daddy isn't allowed to hunt. The New Loon Go for the Ruts & Rocks but end up with someone elses crotch. Is this right MR. JOHN DEERE
  4. NH's Leading Ski Areas based on sold lift tickets 09/10 Season. Loon - 353,421 Mt. Sunapee - 280,000 Waterville - 205,000 Bretton Woods - 177,821 Gunstock - 169,000 Pats Peak - 150,000 Cranmore - 125,000 Wildcat - 107,000 Canon - 103,000 Crotched - 100,000 Ragged - 80,000 The Loon number looks a bit out of wack, but hey maybe T32 can vouche for the crowds.
  5. BIG CROWDS that weekend, may not be the best time to remember how to HB. You'll be wanting a lot of space, and you will not find it there. Now midweek, you will find, is the perfect time lots of nice lonely wide open nicely grromed trails. They sold 6,200 tickets last Thursday before New Years and the only reason they stopped is because they don't sell tickets after 3 pm. Hey but if you're in to standing in line for 25 minutes to take a 3 minute run down the mt then by all means Sunapee on a weekend is waiting for you.

    Sunapee.

In case some of you are new to the Sunapee Vacation Crowd Experience next week will be PACKED. The only time to ride is early morning and get out quick. They will run you over and there is nowhere to hide. All the best trails will be open for tomorrow. Skyway, Cataract, Hansen Chase. The snow is incredible and we got 2 inches last night and it looks like a pretty big storm brewing for Sunday night and all day Monday, dare I say possibly Powder first thing Monday. With vacation as with weekends they open the lifts at 8am, get there early and enjoy the sunapee cord, voted best in the east five years running. Or go ride go0n with T32, I hear the ice and rocks are really good this year.

But very interesting, who could it be?? I'll be riding next three days first thing then on the carpet with the boy. Same for next weekend 31, 1, 2. If anyone is coming up i can probably change my sch and ride a bit longer in the morning. EZE

Michael, t'was me. Tried to speed up and then slow down to match up with you but we never connected. I only get 2 hours of carving so I move really fast. Paul, Saturday the snow was sweet but it did melt a bit and then hardened up for Sunday. Bonanza was very firm, Skyway was a bit better. I have the 24th off and will be there for the morning then back with the boy and in the South Park area. As with last year I bought the big pass so no blackout for me. The mt. is pumping out the snow should be a bunch of new stuff opening this week. This is my new look so yell if you see me. Eric

Paul, Come on, orange is an outdated color I just hit the deer to get a new car. New color is the blend in with everyone else Subaru Outback Green. I will be riding 24, 25, 26 each morning then back with the boy on the carpet. As well I will be there 31, 1, 2 with the same schedule. I'm on the quad at 8am for at least 4 or 5 leg burner runs. If the goose IS open without bumps I'll be starting there.

Once they cut the bumps they stay. Usually half way through the season they rip them down and cut them again. There was only one year, the big snows of 2001 that in early April they pushed them flat. The north peak has the steepest terrain on the mountain, the lift is slow but it is usually not as crowded. On deeper powder days it is the only place to ride, the rest of the mountain just doesn't have enough pitch to keep you going. Leave a note here the next time you're coming up and we can connect. Any weekend/big pow day/vacation day/sick day/ Mass Guys Wednesdays;) I'm there for first chair and not more then 3 hours (maybe more on a sick day) I just can't take the crowd. Would love to make turns with anyone coming this way. Flying Goose will open this week, get there soon before they put the mogels on it(for xmas vacation). Upper Goose is possibly one of the best carving trails in NH when not bumped. And great grandstanding right under the lift. Love to watch the fingers pointing and the jaws dropping. EZE

Yell louder from the lift, I ride in the zone man. Saturday was great snow I thought hard and gripy I ran the quad from 8 to 10am no stops. Left and went to magic carpet on my Newbury dump reuse pile skis and the 3 year old. Sunday had moderate snow falling but was windy as heck, they shut down the sunbowl lift due to it. I rode the lower mt triple as eggbeater and the terrain park(no features) were wide open. Sleet started about 10 and I left. Snowed about 2 inches last night. They're predicting 33 - 35 trails for this weekend. EZE

One run Blastoff. Snow was good. Made it six runs before it became a bit overcrowded for one trail with so many fresh legs. Heavy rain tonight, but once the cold comes back tomorrow they think they'll have two more trails by Sat and one open in th beginner area. The drive to the snow is getting shorter for you mass guys. The guns came on last night. Anticipated opening Dec. 3rd. Maybe a one trail(blast off) quiet opening midweek. Okemo opened today with 4 trails 2 lifts from the Summit. EZE
  15. Going through old photos last night. From 1991 at Mount Sunapee (of course) riding a Burton Free 6, look closely and you can already see I was turning the bindings to a more carving stance. EZE
  16. Trailer Trash was feeling sad about my situations and is gonna hook me up with his old custom Donek from ECES 2006. No need to take the PJ 7 off the wall this season. He's only sticking the tip in so I see how if feels so I not getting completely F'd.
  17. Dry as a Colorado Wildfire up here. Everyone's waiting for harvest and hoping the search & report chopper doesn't fly over their backyards. It was a BIG deer hard to miss it when it takes up the entire front of your auto. The PD put'r down and F&G showed up to claim the remains, didn't even ask me if I wanted some steaks. Looks to be about a 5K claim, my dog's been licking the front of the car for 2 days, orange colored deer flavored lollipop.
  18. They'll be serving up venison steaks at the Newbury Police Dept. Guess this means no new snow toys for Eric this year.
  19. Blew the right knee all to sh**. Can't play running sports, but can carve like hell:eplus2: EZE, photo Bob J Prior 181
  20. Angles 70/65 I run those as I was experiencing bad skin eating shin bang at lower angles. Riding with those angles and a 19 3/4 inch stance I am actually able to pass my rear knee through and touch it to the snow on laid over healside carves. It does not seem to be the 'norm' but it comes down to personal preference. EZE, photo by Bob J board Madd 170
  21. I have this poster I printed in a former life. It was a contract job for the State printed in the late summer 2000, photos from previous season I would imagine. Is this a current BOLer? EZE
  22. Advanced and Expert Riding Only. 35 to 40 Trails Lots of holes but still some really nice big sections of wide edge to edge coverage. Saturday was a bit warm, Sunday was better with only two lines of parked cars guess everybody went to church. The Sun Bowl is still great and I'm still carving turns in the sub-base. I'm taking Wednesday off to ride my last day as the weekend looks like rain. Season will end with 48 trips to the mountain. Little low this year, not as many mid-week therapy sessions. EZE

    Sunapee Today.

I just took six runs on Lynx. Snow was very firm with about 1/2 inch of softer snow on top. railin's turns with very minimal slide out. Mountain is still in great form. Correction to event schedule: Slush Cup Skimming April 3rd Cardboard Sled Race April 10th Last Day: Sunday April 11th. Snow tonight, winter temps coming back. Saturday morning in the single digits. Sunday should be excellent carving with two grooms into the refrozen hardpack. EZE
  24. Still on 60 trails, still grooming every night. The base should come back and make for some good carving this weekend. Night temps in high teens and day temps in the 30s. They have a ton of snow banked up in big whales all over the mt. They are hoping to make it to April 11th. Pond Skimming this weekend. Oh and its snowing right now and supposed to snow again heavy tonight into Thursday. EZE
