  1. Weds calling for light snow and partial sun temps in the low 30s. The mt did take a hit with the rain last week so there is b-plate down below the groom. I only rode for the first hour sat/sun and it was typical eastcoast, you can carve it but if you push too hard you're out. They have been blowin every night and blending that in with the base. All trails are open. Nightime temps are very chilly so the groom should set-up nice and may have some sugar on top for first am. Make sure your blades are sharp, bring the 5 hour energy the bottle of advil and the low light lens. I'll see you at 9 in the new lodge.
  2. My current state of employment provides me unlimited access. I've stopped counting how many times I've been this season. The 5th sounds fine, it's Ladies Day so you all should fit right in, Wed. the 6th would be 2 fer one day, just saying. The snow is excellent with a deep base, everything is open, they got two more of those monster groomers this year and the cord is set sweetly every morning for my hour or so. They blew a ton of cover for MLK weekend and while it has been a bit nippi this week you can 'carve carve no slide" cause it isn't icy. DURACE- I've fallen in with the mid-week crowd if I go on the w/end it is only for a quick hour and then back with my boy "The Gas Pedal" skiing the S.Peak/Ridge or Beater. He is already hittin the beginner rails/boxes at age 5 and only wants to be in the park. EZE

Who rode recently(fri/sat? couldn't rem day) and augered out on flying goose early? Heard report it was an epic ejection from a very cheecky base of hard over soft snow. Funny how carvers stand out and are remembered, beginning of report was 'I saw you crash this morning'.

just so happens, I have the day off as well. I do have an appt. at 8am in Concord but should be back for a 9:30ish start. Lots of melting today, may just get to freezing tonight, prob higher on mt. Could be icy hard first thing or 1.5inches of push over bplate. Anyway past noon its gonna be all mush with alost 60 temps and bright sun. I can ride for an hour or 2 then home get fam and back to beginner area for afternoon. I'll prob hit quad first then to north peak. EZE
  8. Sorry, sick fam and a tradeshow. Board went to Corey_dyck last week. EZE
  9. I bought the last prototype(before production) Proteus 180 at Sean's demo sale this summer. I was expecting the ride you folks have described, but very unfortunately my meager 155# frame cannot bend this board. I have had to adjust my stance to as forward as possible just to be able to get it to engage. I bought this for 600+ shipping. If anyone wants this please make me a reasonable offer, only riden 3 times and not very long. Would be looking to trade for newer set of TD3. EZE

They have been blowin in anticipation of vacation weeks and no snow. Workforce is on reduced hours. Snow on Saturday was beautiful on the top and corn on the bottom, hardest snow is always north peak first thing but flat light. Sunday was great but I only ran the bottom of Flying Goose off the duck chair as it was cold. The Sunapee base is best from 8 to 11, the crowds are bad unless you can move through the singles lines. By afternoon you are down to boilerplate base with piles of corn on the sides or you can cruise nice slow turns on south peak the snow stays longer over there or ride around the features in the park casue those jibbers don't use it but big risk of getting tagged. I carve from 8 to 10ish either bombing the trails under the quad or the north peak, I never go into the slowbowl anymore with my limited run time. EZE
  11. Of course I'll be there for whatever opening day is. I was informed by the boy that he will not be skiing this year. Guess I'm looking for a 100 to 120ish raceboard, don't think he's up to the 140 rossi i have in waiting. And yes the 20inches was very nice and dry up here, very unfortunate down south. There were ALOT of people hiking the next day, we drove over to see after we had already used up the first tracks on Mt. Ensign, mostly straightlining with one or two turns at the end, the 6' cliff drop will be excellent once we pack in some snow this season. EZE
  12. Last night's newsletter calls for snowmaking to begin Thurs. 17th with expected opening for I guess I'll call it WHITE FRIDAY the 25th. Weather permitting of course. The first thing I learned this season (which will never happen again) But listen to my warning. Do Not Have baby making realtions with your wife from mid-May to August it is a game changer to your carving season. I'm taking Thursday off to say good bye looks to be last uncrowded sunshine day of the season. They will be turning off the lifts Sunday at 4pm, no trying for Easter this year even with the amount of money they saved on snowmaking the ticket buyers aren't coming. Still plenty of base, no holes and not very dirty yet. They have lowered run count midweek to save snow for weekend. Bring a carving tool for the morning ice and the fork for mashed potato after 11am. Didn't see but heard there were several carvers on Sat. I took one run considered it crap and left(unhappy new Mommy) Saturday's melt was Sunday mornings frozen something, fighting to keep the edge dug in, made it for an hour(see 1st statement). EZE
  15. Coming Thursday late and all day Friday. Little extra base to carry us nicely in to April:1luvu: The snow & groom at Sunapee has been excellent this year as always. Slush cup on Sunday. 85 feet of 36 degree water. EZE
  16. A vendor just came in and gave me a (1) free Go0n Ticket Sun thru Fri only till end of this season. With the new baby my leash has been shortened to only Sunapee this year. I can put it in the mail to anyone today that is really going to use it EZE

Riding Friday afternoon, Sat and Sun mornings. Weather should be warming, cloudy sat but mostly dry maybe some breaks of sun. Sunday will be warmer still but the rain will be approaching late afternoon and heavy after evening then changing back to snow late night. Poached three runs yesterday and the snow was chalk making for some very good turns. Won't be there past 10am either day.
  18. Now go0n is in the 1 foot range. They are calling for heavy rain showers:barf: on Monday night for the whole state. This could be the last weekend for good snow for some time. Warm weather & rain = boilerplate and no carbon-fiber model either.
  19. 6 to 10 for go0n country. 3 to 6 for So into my pee 1 to 3 coast. Staring as all snow overnight then changing to minor freezing rain sleet then all rain. The further north the less chance of fr rain and rain but the snow will still be heavy. Should end by late afternoon Friday. EZE
  20. Yea, they didn't let me leave. Don't worry though, I've gotten my share of midweek this year. At this rate we'll be riding till May anyway. Remember 2001 when it closed the 3rd week of Arpil after 131 open days, longest season on record.
  21. Going to start tonight after midnight and snow until Friday afternoon. Me and my free-heeler pal will be there for first lift at 9am. Durace you coming up this weekend? Going to try for some more time sat/sun as the wee one is due to come anyday now~wif is ready to POP. EZE

    5 to 10 Heavy Wet

Should groom out nice. 2 to 3 more coming tomorro afternoon. Bigger storm coming for thurs into fri. Not even talkin about depth yet. Gonna go back to being friggin really cold again starting fri. EZE
  23. Very cold up here today. They're calling for 5 to 10 heavy wet inches starting around 8 am and snowing through Tuesday night. The the deep freeze comes back for the rest of the week. Should be great base building conditions for weekend east coast hard pack. We are not in the freezing rain zone just wet snow and a mix to sleet then back to snow as night comes on. If you like the knee breaker powder come on up for the afternoon tomorrow.

    8 to 14.

Sunapee is in the 8 to 14 inch zone for Wednesday's storm. There should be at least 4 to 6 inches on the ground for opening lift at 9am. Then snowing hard all day and ending close to sundown. Only mild winds in the 20s not like the whipping the coast is going to get. Loon, WV, Can are going to get screwed out of it again. I'll be there for opening chair probably Quad. I'll also be riding 9 to 11 on Thursday on the fresh groom in the sunshine. Should be some deep trench digging. EZE
  25. Lincoln, NH – Loon Mountain in an effort to lower the increasing alcohol related on-slope accidents will begin an unprecedented program tracking patron alcoholic beverages on their purchased day tickets or season passes. Mountain spokesmen Mike Hunt explained, “The 2010/11 season at Loon has seen a drastic rise in alcohol related skier/snowboarder on-slope accidents usually occurring in the afternoon hours. In a hope to control over indulgence the mountain will begin tracking patron alcohol consumption on the patron’s day pass or season ticket’s bar code which is specific to each person. The mountain will only allow for 2 beverages an hour to be purchased and consumed, the data will be tracked similar to the current system tracking skiers and lift access. The mountain ski patrol will also begin administering slope sobriety tests on those people they suspect are not riding in control and may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Lincoln native and season pass holder Buck Stradler said “You see these guys in the Bunyan Room stacking empty beer cups to the ceiling then heading back out to the slopes and causing all sorts of problems, cutting people off, making crazy turns and all wearing black it’s just not safe, we have drunk driving laws for the road it’s about time we start cracking down on ‘em on the slopes where most of them are traveling over 65 miles per hour.” Yet another season pass holder who wanted to remane annonoyous is quoted, “This is a F***ing conspiracy, the state just wants to know how much PBR I’m drinking, 2 an hour WTF, I need like 2 every fifteen minutes. They can check my sobriety when I climb out of the truck I just wrecked in the tree off I-93." It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if will have any effect on slope alcohol related accidents.
