  1. Made my reservation for 3 nights. January 22,23, and 24. I picked a cheap place in Sandpoint that has an indoor pool. Hopefully the kids will enjoy swimming and use of some of that extra energy! Me? I'll just sit in the hottub and veg....
  2. Does being "there" and working still qualify you as a personal tour guide?
  3. There is a guy here on Bomber that teaches there, I think. I was there for a week in March of 97. It rained and was so foggy the whole week. By the last day, we could finally see where we were going! From what I remember, the town was nice. And it was a lot bigger than I was used to having live in Pennsylvania at the time. The beginner area is totally separate from the rest of the mountain and I remember back then feeling a little intimidated by the "green" runs on the main mountain. Forget what that area was called.... All the way to the left when looking up from the base. I seem to remember some long traverses getting over there too. I'm sure it wouldn't have been so bad if you're with someone who know the mountain and it wasn't so foggy! We had flown into Boise and got a rental car. Seemed like it took forever to get there! If you really want to go to Idaho, how about NICE at Schweitzer with the rest of us Bomber folks?
  4. Watching the weather reports... 6-10 inches mountain snow about 5000 feet! In September!??!? Nice......
  5. Search on Facebook for "FA design". The guy's name who owns and designs that stuff is Freddy Ansara. He's a hard booster / racer guy out of Calgary. I'll forward this thread to him. I don't know if I've ever seen him here on Bomber. Edit: hm, guess I was tired when I wrote that last night. I think he stuff does have hoods, but he does design his own, so maybe.....
  6. I hope to bring two new attendees... My kiddos! Providing their grades are good and they can miss two days of school.
  7. I am hoping to attend with my youngins this year... That is, if their grades are good enough to miss a couple of days of school! Hope to ride/ski on that Thursday and Friday. Maybe.
  8. wow.... I haven't read the thread for a bit (little bummed with the end of the season) and this is what I missed???? wow....
  9. LIKE! Oh shoot.... Too much Facebooking!
  10. Ok, time to bring back this thread with new numbers for the 12-13 season.... I will start by saying it was an odd kind of a season for me. My home mountain (aka where I teach) changed right around Christmas / New Years so I wasn't on snow at all during that week and I was hired at the new place as a ski instructor which maybe was a good thing. So, for the first time in probably at least 10+ years, I was on my skis more than my board (well ok, except for the 06-07 season when I was pregnant with my son and promised everyone I'd stay off the board and only ski). I did reach my goal for this year which was to get my son skiing more independently! He turned 6 on March 27th and a few weeks after did his first ever blue run without my help! Yes, he still uses an edgie wedgie and still needs help on the lift, but we'll work on that stuff for next year! Also passed my Children's Specialist Level 1 exam so happy about getting my PSIA / AASI credits this year too! So, here are the numbers.... Pretty comparable to last season, I think. (All things considered....) 28 days total 6 days at BOL events (4 at NICE and 2 at WTF) 12 days with my carvin boyfriend! (not so easy when you have passes at different mountains!) At least 15 days or so with the kids (daughter 11 and son 6) 15 days teaching (+2 days taking the exam) 6 different ski areas (Lost Trail, Lookout Pass, Whitefish, Schweitzer, Snowbowl, and Discovery) Overall, it was a good season. I've enjoyed getting back on my skis again more, but hopefully will still be able to teach snowboarding some next year as well. I'm not sure there are too many ski/snowboard multi-discipline instructors where I am now. Not sure, but maybe it's just too hard for the desk ladies to keep track of?
  11. Funny seeing me on the same board in 2011 that Slopetool is on in 2013 .... Just weird! In a good kinda way! I guess I held my own in perfect conditions, but he does much better with it!
  12. The website was pretty cool.... Who should I thank for it? Kram, I know you are a bit.... Well.... Technologically challenged... Couldn't have been you making that website, right? Anyway, love the site, but the link for 2012 didn't work. :(
  13. I know a few who still ride at Camelback, I think.... Don't miss all those narrow runs, that's for sure!

  14. Even though that is me from a few years ago in the picture, I can't comment on the board.... I'm not that crazy to ride that beast! (but he did let me touch it!) hahahaha.... just kidding... the 188cm board I did get to try was plenty big though! Anyway, I will comment on your post since I've ridden with Steve on more that a few occasions... yes, he knows his stuff, is fun to ride with, and overall a great and reliable person! I wish I could have been the fly on the wall to see that expression from the UPS guy!!!
  15. Bryan, that's me!!!!! and yes, I'm all of FIVE FOOT TWO INCHES and proud of every single part of that!!!! That picture was maybe 3 years ago? at least.... There is a picture floating around somewhere of me with a 188cm board too...... (the 188 I actually rode too!) And B0ardski, I know I can always count on you to dig into the archives for pictures like this!
  16. Sorry, Corey.... Don't believe that one either! I really don't think those pictures are photoshopped.... Or are they.... Hmmmmmm........
  17. I'm enjoying the daily videos, but are any going to show any actual riding? Just curious.....
  18. Like this one? Mine isn't blue... Sorry, can't have it though.... Lovin it way to much! Oops! Why is the picture upside down?
  19. No kidding! I know she likes to go fast! Has she been on that Ultra Prime I left with her again yet?
  20. Thanks all.... Had fun today! Maybe, just maybe, I can appreciate the pow! :)
  21. How was it? I'm maybe about a 6 hour drive from Sun Valley.... Last time I was there was in 97 ... Thinking about trying to get back someday
  22. And reading an old post of yours here on March 13th a year ago.... Yes, I think it's safe to say that Ed is a buffer for me too! He keeps me grounded when needed and tries to stop me from putting my foot in my mouth at times! Tries.... We are a good match, but sometimes too much a like! It's been a year now since I met him... I couldn't ask for a more caring person who treats me so well....

  23. Did ya see it? Did ya see it? There is proof! Yes, finally a picture posted of me riding the Hot Shine! It's on the WTF thread on the Montana ride board.... Sorry the pic is so small.

  24. That's awesome! So glad you found us here and have that goal to work for! I only hope all the others out there are able to find the other options that are available! How did you manage to get your first alpine setup?
  25. Do it! Do it! Do it! Maybe you could still attend if not a member? I'd love to be an in disguise camera person..... Boy, that would be good! I was a member of the eastern division from 91 to 2000 ish, I think. When I did my level 2 in 1995, most of the top guys were on hard boots. I do try to keep my membership current although it has lapsed a time or two over the years. I think I get paid more as a certified instructor, but still barely worth it. My lift tickets for my next two days of vacation should be covered so that's a little more than the dues so I guess we are good. I wish I had all the options for clinic topics available here. We are one of the smaller divisons as far as membership goes. We'll see how things go with the Children's Specialist in a few weeks... It's a multi-discipline event.
