  1. Jack, I can't visualize what you mean there. Can you re-state please?
On the first two days with my RC10s I endured excruciating pain around the heels because the gel inside the Flo liner walls got packed at the bottom as I put the boots on. That would pinch my heels like a vise and it was evident that there was no way the gel could flow back UP against my weight and mold to my feet as they were really squished in there. Solution: Now I put on the Flo liners first (OUTSIDE THE SHELL) then I slip my foot into the shell with the liner on. This can be done by opening the boot cuff sideways and pulling the plastic tongue OVER the cuff. It works like a charm; my boots now feel like slippers and hold my ankles just perfectly. To remove the boots I do the reverse procedure and pull my foot out WITH the liner. I do get funny looks at times but it is a small price to pay for comfort.
  5. Queequeg put it as clearly as it can be: "the issue is that the bail itself is nearly in line with the point at which the lever contacts the toe ledge". Even seen from a forward angle, that boot/binding combination looks UNSAFE to ride.
  6. It looks like you do not have a stable latching geometry there. The two photos of your post no 9 show that the point of contact between the latch and the boot is just a few mm fore from line of force that would run through the bail. Since these shots were not taken from a perpendicular angle (to the center of the boot/binding) there is a parallax and it is not a real side view. EDIT - For more clarity: the parallax makes it look almost ok, but if you view truly sideways you may find it is totally unsafe to ride.
  7. Funny that I should get a hit on this closed ad while shopping for a used SG163 because I bought that beauty last March. Greatest board I ever rode. Sorry to report that my son wrecked it in practice last week. Hit a gate post dead center. The first 10 inches of the board's nose exploded into 3 pieces (broken titanal, delaminated sheets). Luckily, nobody got hurt in the face plant that followed. And I missed it ! L-G L
  8. You may want to enable email in your profile. Or drop me a line; I'm interested. LGL
  9. Hi Stéphane, If you don't cut a deal with hwebb tonight then bring the bindings to work tomorrow. I work on the 18th floor of the South tower. Will PM you for details. Louis-Georges
  10. Semaine extraordinaire, montagne magnifique et conditions parfaites. Voir les premières photos ici: http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=29941 Louis-G
  11. Interesting. I would suggest beefing up the p-tex along the green lines to avoid it ripping from the weak points at the corners (red lines), where shear forces will be concentrated. Also, ensure the screws into the p-tex (circled) are T-nutted underneath (not just screwed into plastic).
  13. Just a bit slow. Not to worry. The Catek online store and billing are automated and may feel like Amazon.com but I understand everything else is done very manually by two guys as a part-time operation. They recently mass mailed this: In short, it's lining up to be a fun season. Scott is back in the USA and ready answer any questions & emails you fire his way. Jeff is splitting his hours between shipping orders and spending some quality time behind the wheel of SolidWorks dreaming up new goodies. We're excited to be back on track for a new season. You may receive a reassuring response if you email (Scott at catek dot com)
  14. Top view, at Valamenco, Italy, March 2009 as seen here: http://www.aktaes.com/blog/2009/03/
  15. Around here we don't have resorts suitable for that fine sport. It's mostly downhill. Too bad.
  16. No secret back door. Just (catekdirect at catek dot com) and (scott at catek dot com).
  17. I just recently got first class service from Catek. Mid August I inquired about the actual availability of OS2s and other goodies before ordering from their automated online store. Scott promptly responded: "We're into full production mode for the season and we expect to have the shelves completely stocked by early September. The OS2 longs are in short supply right now, but Jeff though he could probably build up a set if you need them quickly. (...)" We exchanged a couple more emails, I placed the order then got all I needed delivered at my door within a month. Bear in mind they're just a couple of guys doing everything.
  19. A spectacular and inspiring first post !
