    Do you twist?

Basically what PF said...... Twisting is yet another silly pony trick developed by instructor geeks. It should not be a core pillar...or whatever they are calling it these days. However, it is a very nice "drill" to help riders use their feet INDEPENDENTLY, especially on healside. It opens up the hip angle for people who are prone to counter-rotation. (Assuming your twisting is toe up front / heel up back on a heelside). The risk is that the rider will push their weight in the backseat. Toeside it's pretty much moot. Concept doesn't work so hot on a race board riding 55-50. It's really just a dog trick for newbies to pressure their board while remained balanced. Shouldn't be a conscious action......

    Do you twist?

Which thread is going to die so I can post my 10cents?
  3. If you look at the site, you'll note that each report is from 3rd party VERY respected analysts. It's not MS material....... SI, Gartner and Yankee are top notch organizations.

    XC Expansion

Well C, you know I'll brainstorm anytime providing there is beer involved...... I'm not optimistic....and I'm a little pessimistic about the idea. Things cleared up a little for Torino, but SLC showed you don't even need to be on the US Snowboarding Team to ultimately win an Olympic Gold. So, I think the 1st disconnect lies within the foundation/role/goal of US Snowboarding. After that, we must consider alpine and halfpipe differently. They are different sports, different athletes, different training...etc. It's fairly evident that each org is simply protecting their "turf". I think someone needs to step to the plate to simply act at the traffic cop between all the organizations/programs available. It's a very small, select group.... It's still about dollars and sense.....

  9. I missed it as well.....and it oods they don't have the video up on the website either. Perhaps we should track down the highest exec in charge and send him a board...... K
  10. It was a joke to the folks who think stiffer is always better......
  11. Gasp.....how could someone possibly race at a World Cup level with those wimpy bails! Imagine how much faster he could be..... Pretty cool shop project. Snowpro or F2 jerry-rigged to an alum plate and some riders. Looks like a nice set-up... K
  12. go Tyler! (Check the Race Thread if you want a spoiler)
  13. I was picking Sigi. Nice work on the bronze! Damn, those Swiss rock.....
  14. We'll be watching red/white and blue on the TV tonight! Unfortunately, we won't be watching our friend from the Northland. I hope they show some of the prelims.... Finals results coming soon...... 15. This confirms Trent did NOT attend SES. He is solo in every picture posted that can easily have been taken last year, he's not shown in any of the post-hill shots and can't be found in the group panarama. Trent was carving a Hyland Hills all week.........
  16. BoarderX is fun...but pretty much a circus show rather than legit Olympic sport (IMO). The highlight of BoarderX was Rippy doing a backflip back before the turn of the century. It was a classic moment of the sport..... Oddly enough, he went on to be the 1st manic to pull a backflip on a snowmobile, I do believe....
  17. I have a pair of Elan SLX 160cm with Marker Comp 1400. I'll sell them to a BOLer for $250, used for 2 hours. One of the top SL race skiis at this this...... Email for pix, otherwise they are hitting ebay this week. Kent

  19. You mean UNeventful? I dunno, there are a lot of people who paid USSA A LOT of money this year. You would think Bode would take a PR class. It's pretty loney on top of podium unless people are clapping for you. I don't wanna spoil, but there's another name in US Skiing on top of the podium today..... K
  20. LMAO - nice call. The keg gets swapped for the women. Classic. I'd agree with that one....

They seems to think we go faster than we do...it's a carving thing. Next time that happens, ask if they define speed at which you descend the hill or at the velocity in which you make your turns! You can't change their position, but you can change their vision! ;)

I find pleasure in tucking a shoulder at the "SLOW" signs while the Patrollers are watching. They love me.......
  23. NO!!!!!! LMAO, that has to be from Buck Hill last Wed........ Tell Trent "hi" and make SURE he tells the stories about past year's follies.
  24. Scott - Nice pix. The rumor is that Trent Johnson made it out there from Minnesota. We don't believe him b/c each trip for the past few years and gotten screwed up. So...we actually think he's taking vacation to a hillbilly resort in Northern Minnesota. Make sure he DOES NOT make any of the galleries....otherwise we might lose our ribbing contest. K
