  1. Article on Jasey in today's Globe and Mail (Toronto daily). http://www.ctvolympics.ca/snowboard/news/newsid=11544.html#fully+focused+jasey+jay+anderson Says he's working on some secret new plates. Fin are you hiding something from us?
  2. I say buy used until you figure out what shape, sidecut and length you like. Then order a new metal board. Sell off the others if you don't think you'll use them.
  3. Is this the same USAF pilot who was stunting it through the Italian Alps and severed the gondola cable a few years back?
  4. On a short radius board, if you jam the edges hard, you're going to get whipped around fast. I kind of like that and ride mostly short radius boards here in Ontario. If I rode an 18m board, I'd get two turns in before I hit the bottom. By float, I presume it to mean riding with less edge pressure and less inclined board. Not making abrupt turns. I do this over rough patches of snow. I ride as if I'm riding a wakeboard on a choppy lake.

    Pork ?

It's actually not affecting the elderly and the very young. In fact, most of the cases in Mexico were aged 4-45. All the health organizations, who are always pushing flu vaccines, admit that this year's vaccine will be of no help. Confirms my theory that flu vaccines are close to worthless. It's already beyond containment since the cases are popping up all over the world. So all these travel restrictions and vigilance at our borders is completely useless. It's already here. We're gonna have to see this one played out. All I know is that that health organizations and governments always downplay the risks when this sort of thing pops up. Remember how the French and British government kept insisting that Mad Cow disease could not cross over to humans?

    Pork ?

Knowing a couple of people in public health, it's probably a lot worse than we think. They haven't told me anything about this particular outbreak but I heard the stories about SARS. That one was a near miss.
  7. What do you think about the enameled dutch ovens. Like this one: Will they do the job?

    Go B's!!

It's sad but the greatest Leaf moment for me was the 1978 quarter-finals when the Leafs beat the heavily favoured Islanders with an overtime Lanny McDonald goal. I remember going crazy and nearly hitting the ceiling in my parent's family room. Sad isn't it? The greatest Leaf moment for me was a *quarter-final* win.

    Go B's!!

I'm glad to see Paul Maurice in the playoffs after he was unceremoniously tossed out off Toronto. As if the Leafs' failures were his fault.
  10. This sounds like my kind of cooking. So any reason why you can't do this on a gas barbeque? I can control the heat on my 'que quite nicely since it has a temp gauge on the lid.

    Go B's!!

This guy from Toronto can't feel too sorry for you.
  12. When the going gets tough, I think of these guys. * Tom Weiskopf took a 13 on the par-3 12th at Augusta National during the 1980 Masters. * In 2005, Billy Casper recorded a 14 on the par-3 No. 16 at Augusta National during The Masters. * Porky Oliver took 16 on a par-3 at the Bing Crosby Pro-Am in 1954. * The highest single-hole score we can find a record of in a non-major PGA Tour event: John Daly (which somehow doesn't seem surprising) took 18 on the par-5 No. 6 hole in the final round of the 1998 Bay Hill Invitational. Daly kept going for the green and kept hitting it into the water - six times, total. * The highest single-hole score we can find a record of in the U.S. Open (the USGA also does not keep this record officially): Ray Ainsley scored a 19 on the par-4 No. 16 hole at Cherry Hills Country Club in 1938.
  13. Ya, you could make a nice chair or a chaise lounge out of them. They are even pre-drilled for mounting on a frame. Hmmm....
  14. Too bad Perry and Campbell lost it rather than Cabrera winning it. Imagine his thoughts on the first playoff hole after hitting the tree on the second shot. I'm sure he thought he was done. I was rooting for Perry since he's a year older than me. Gives me hope that my game can improve still. And Tiger hitting that tree square. That was right out of one of my Saturday afternoons.
  15. I was thinking they'd make a great sculpture. Cover an entire wall with them.

  17. It might have been because I only really got about 10 runs in. Couple runs, coffee, couple runs, lunch, couple runs, packed it in. I was taking it easy. Didn't want to risk injury with golf season around the corner. See you guys next season. We should do a summer get-together.
  18. John, you are way too modest. I saw you around 10:30 and you were carving really nicely on that still-hard snow. I tried to catch you but never did. I quit around 1PM. Never saw Bruce. I brought an AM board and mostly skidded around until the snow softened up. By then, my legs were done. A great finish to the season.
  19. Couldn't resist sharing this. What a cute dog.
  20. Take the whole family. Westin Trillium has an Easter special at $100 per night. It has a great outdoor pool. The kids would love it. You can ride and the kids can swim and ski.
  21. Bruce: I'll be at Blue. Probably riding a sweet Prior. Hopefully, I see you there. HK
  22. Land Cruiser? I own a 4Runner. I bought it just for that iForce V8.
  23. Reliable as a hammer and easy to work on. Only two things have gone wrong since I've owned it (10 years) - fuel pump and bad voltage regulator. 993s - to do an oil change, you have to remove 4-5 parts and then change two filters. With the '87-89, you don't even have to lift the car.
  24. '87-'89 is the sweet spot for Porsche 911s. Uncomplicated yet easy to drive. If you have the means, I highly recommend you pick one up.
