  1. I've always been pleased by the tuning work done at either the Sherway or Yonge St. locations. http://www.crmnewsletters.net/Navigate.asp?ID=ED599966-B8A7-4728-AFC0-D0B0F50B4FB9&LINK=1802
  2. Intrawest's troubles threaten Olympics: report CBC News A fight between Wall Street financiers could push the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort into insolvency and threaten the Vancouver Olympics, a U.S. newspaper report suggests. Back-country skiers descend Blackcomb Mountain. A New York Post report suggests the resort's owners could soon be insolvent, which may threaten the Vancouver Olympics. (Randy Lincks/Associated Press) According to a story in Wednesday's New York Post, creditors who have loaned $1.4 billion US to the ski resort's owners, Intrawest ULC, are threatening to foreclose on the company and effectively seize control of the resort. Among numerous ski resorts in Canada and the U.S., Intrawest owns the Whistler Blackcomb resort, which is set to host all the ski events at the Winter Olympic Games next month. 3. Stainless: I'm interested but I'm thinking I might be a little too heavy for it at 186lbs. What are your thoughts?
  4. If you want these, email me fast. I have a friend with a pair but she wants to get rid of them fast. Unfortunately, I can't make that date. $290 for the pair which is exactly what she paid for them.
  5. They sure look like they are protecting their privates, don't they. I think it went like this: The first photo probably had them wearing their boards on their feet. The creative director looks at the setup shots and says "Hey, you can't see the boards". Then he comes up with a brainstorm - "I know, we'll have them carry the boards.".
  6. Okay, I was a little harsh. I think a little fact checking is good thing. Have you see the Bud Light ad with the stewardesses? That one also gets my goat. She kicks the ham with the wrong foot.
  7. Here's a better shot. I don't think they're downloading at Whistler.
  8. Boris, you are very kind to assume that the couple in question are downloading at Whistler. I've only downloaded on the gondola. Are you sure you can carry your board on an open chairlift? I would think the risk of dropping it would be too great. Maybe when there is no snow at the bottom?
  9. What is wrong with this picture? I do business with this bank. I'm re-thinking that decision. Whoever was responsible for approving that image needs to be fired, immediately.
  10. Career counsellors almost always tell you *not* to put hobbies or interests on your resume. I think we have enough anecdotal evidence to say nuts to that.
  11. When I ran my own software company, I hired a guy because he was a former Junior A hockey player. We used to play in a tech company league and never lost a game with this guy on D.

  13. Wont' work. They won't fit that bit a boot. I assume you are using ski boots.
  14. I'll check on the size issue and get back to you.
  15. Are those the ones that are re-badged Raichles or re-badged Heads? I had the Head ones once and regret selling them. They were comfy.
  16. I will. My daughter quit the club after 2 races with her brand new, $300 POC helmet. Grrr... Not mad at my daughter. I'm still mad at the Race Director.
  17. Also try Dave or Andrea at yyzcanuck.com
  18. I have a two pairs of SnowPros that I was going to throw up for sale. They are aluminum and pretty burly. I think the bails are 6mm. They are complete with the extra cants, heel/toe pads and even the strap in included with the grey ones. The grey ones are like new with maybe 3 days on them. The red ones have 2 seasons on them. There are scratches and scrapes in paint but they are still very solid. $140 for the grey pair $80 for the red pair Or make me an offer.
  19. I find Michael's helmet somewhat interesting. Last year, the Director of Racing at our club, who barely tolerates snowboarding, issued this edict that all snowboard racers must wear hard sided helmets and not the ones with the soft ear coverings. For "safety" reasons. I should send him a copy of this photo.
  20. I think they are Full Tilt. http://fulltiltboots.com/boots/booter
  21. This is probably not a good conversation to be having. I wouldn't want to see anyone riding that fast, really. And speed, just for speed's sake, should not be your goal. I take it you mean that you want to able to ride fast with control. In my case, it was mid-week, the slopes were empty, snow conditions were perfect and there was very little risk. The run in question is straight, wide and consistent pitch. The worst thing that could've happened is I catch an edge and I would just slide to a stop on my butt. I posted that speed up a few years ago in response to a thread about how fast we ride. I argued that we consistently ride at 30-40mph and a lot of people thought I was nuts. I stuck the GPS in my pocket to test my theory. I was right, 30-40 mph is cruising speed.
  22. 97km/h tucking it on a blue run at Mount St. Louis. Measured on a Magellan GPS. Coiler 178 RaceCarve, non-metal. Very stable.
  23. How much do you weigh? I have a Rossignol World Cup in 170cm-ish. I have to measure to be sure. Mint condish.
