  1. John and I rode Saturday mostly on the new high speed chair two. The carving was great on Eds and Hellroaring. The new lift can make for some very fast loops. John rode his new Donnek Vlad and rode it very very well. John is RAD on his BAD VLAD. He is GLAD to be VLAD's new DAD. Dont be mean to VLAD or its new DAD will get MAD. Enough of the Silly Suess stuff but is seemed funny at the time on the lift.
  2. How many folks are committed to the Big Session. What are the CONFIRMED dates for the sessions. I am working up my schedule and trying to fit everything in. It is kind of a monumental year for the Big Fish. 20th season snowboarding has been allowed there and 60th season for skiing. Maybe the Big Fish should know or be reminded of that?
  3. http://www.nidecker.com/2008/snowboards.php?snowboard=proto Has any one ridden one of these with the "Ultimate Grip" edge? It looks like a very high tech board. Also looks like a good off piste / all rounder. Does anyone have any feed back on the Nidecker Proto? Anyone, Anyone, Anyone?
  4. I am in the Idaho Falls area quite a bit. Targhee and Kelly Canyon. Drop me a email.
  5. John and I skipped the Big Fish opening and headed to Targhee again. Great snow and good weather again. Met Michael from Munich Germany on a Nidecker GS. He was ripping up the groomers all weekend. We even had fresh tracks most of the way home on the drive.
  6. Johnasmo and I rode Targhee this weekend. It was great!! Bummer you are going to miss opening at Big. Big Sky has been getting snow too so it should be really good. Get any new boards for this season? See ya on the Big!!
  7. Just wondering if you sold the board? I am very interested.
  8. Targhee got 10 inches since 5am today!! More snow tonight and tomorrow. Wahoo!!
  9. Sweet I will ride that bad boy some more this weekend. Looks like more snow tomorrow and Friday!! Anybody else want to join us at Targhee on Sat and Sun?
  10. Terry peak, Dear Mtn, and Great Bear are the only 3 ski areas that I know of in SD. Good luck on your search! Head West!! Eastern SD is not really known for having any Mountains or hills...
  11. I was cleaning up my office and ran across this photo from the Whitefish News Paper. It is from 1988. They had previously not let snowboards on...but in the spring of 1988 they let snowboarders on for a 2 week trial basis. I was riding a sweet 161 Barfoot Freestyle, Sorrel Boots (with tons of Duct Tape), and stretch pants. Looks like they have embraced us well.
  12. Beautiful Thanksgiving day!!
  13. Targhee had pretty fair early season conditions. It was great to be out sliding around again. We had a fun day with beautiful sunny skies and comfortable temperatures. I did get some unexpected base damage. Near the top of the mountain where some rocks were cleverly hidden beneath a few inches of snow. I expected the bottom to be where I would get some damage. If you do head to Targhee take a rock board, don't expect to ride super smooth groomers. I think I will wait till the next storm cycle before I go back up. I hate the thought of my body taking a core shot like my board did.
  14. Targhee is opening tomorrow. I am heading up on Thursday and will let you all know how the conditions are. Happy Turkey Day to ALL!
  15. Targhee is opening tomorrow (21st) I am going up on Thursday!!! I am sure it will be a rock board day. The Resort formerly known as Big is looking pretty bleak for snow!! I will report on Targhee Thursday night. Happy Turkey Day all!

  17. Could you post a few picts of the profile of your new Coiler? Thanks
  18. Thats a cool site. Thanks for the link.
  19. I was just trying to go to the Coiler webpage and it seems to have dissapeared. Anyone have any insider info?
  20. Good route. Monida pass on I-85 and the pass just east of Butte on I-80 should be your only real problems...unless it is windy then the whole Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Montana thing can be tricky... If you are driving a 2wd truck up make sure you have at least a couple hundred pounds of weight in the back to keep pressure on the traction wheels. Chains can make the difference between going over a pass or being required to hunker-down. I wish you a safe and uneventfull trip. Bozeman is a great town. Big Sky and Bridger are both great areas, hard to compare the two they are very different. Have fun!
  21. Targhee may be opening this weekend? We are closing in on the Big Opening. Sounds like Chair 2 will be ready by Dec 8th...
  22. Wake up all you Montana Carvers. The Clock is ticking. Targhee opening this weekend. Whitefish on Dec 8. What about the rest of this forums resorts opening days?
  23. I have a Kemper like that one. It makes for a great pond skimming board. At least it works really well for me.
  24. Even though it is a ski movie. Harkin Banks,Dan O'Callahan, Squirrel, Kendo, and Slasher. Good skiing, Great music(for the era) and Sylvia. "You people... stay out of our way. You may ski on zat side OR on zat side, but stay out of zee meedle!" Rudi the Euro guy's quote
  25. I just picked up a POC helmet. Very Light, well made, seems like good tech info. I fully agree...Get one that fits well...Wear IT.
