  1. If you do go and get a tv you will be better off with 1080p. Come 2009 when analog is dropped the cable co will be able to offer more hd content and 1080p is coming. Analog channels use more than 50% of the cable co bandwidth so come 2009 they will have a lot of possibilities to offer new and better things. Just so you know you will not need hd in 2009 just a cable box to convert the digital signal to analog so your tv can use the signal, and if you already have a box you are most likely getting all digital signal anyway. also dlp offers a much better value
  2. I cant find the classification name right now but the best by card and cards like it are in a different class than a visa card. Also you would have a very high revolving balance which is bad. If you are looking to build your credit I would recommend a gas card that is not attached to a visa or master card. These cards are looked upon favorably, easy to get, hard to run up at least before gas was $3/gal, you would be making regular charges, and regularly paying the card off. After that get a visa or mastercard. I do not like discover or American express because they charge a higher fee to merchants. You can also looking at keeping $500-$1000 in a savings account. Student loans are looked upon favorably as long as payments are made regularly however a large outstanding balance will affect your score and the amount of money a bank will lend you.
  3. I would wait till you have the money. A best buy card will negatively impact your credit score under the following categories: Types of Credit Used 10% (best buy is not favorable here) New credit 10% Average length of credit history 15% Amount owed 30% (a. Percents listed are total for each category not direct impact from the best buy card b. Each credit agencies weight given to each category does very slightly from my myficos given percentages). This will negatively impact your insurance rates among other things. http://www.myfico.com/CreditEducation/<o></o><u1></u1><o></o>
  4. Thought I would post this for anyone who is interested. Stevens Pass is offering everyday passes sold in lots of 4 for $1,900.00 plus tax or $475 plus tax per pass. This deal works with friends, acquaintances, or complete strangers. I already have my pass but if you are interested in getting a seasons pass for Stevens this year this is a pretty good deal compared to$749.00 plus tax if you go it alone.
  5. My take is to look at TCO, safety, reliability, and functionality. I love wagons for the extra rear cargo and great MPG. I would recommend a Subaru wagon; better value than the Volvo and great for winter driving. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /><st1:city w:st="on"><ST1>or Toyota</ST1></st1:city> had a matrix with 4wd which has the best TCO for a car with 4wd and plenty of room for 4, the new 08s have stability control but no 4wd. and with any remaining money split it between toys and your IRA or the like. 7. i am just kidding, I hoped the would have conveyed that.
  8. hey! why you gota make fun this board kicks ass. Its core is designed for park, pipe, and rails, its got a carbon backbone you know thats got to make it stiff, a base material designed to make the graphics pop, vaportech to optimize everything, and if that is not enough it has supernatural powers. $649.95 is a crazy deal for a board comming off burtons quality assembly line. and who says 8.5 is a small sidecut that’s like almost 2 meters bigger than any of my other boards and 164 is way to freakin long for me. anyway I bet you anything shaun rides one when hes not in the pipe. I totally want one!!!!!!
  9. Crystal has a new promo video: lots of steeps blanketed in fresh powder. Is it winter yet???
  10. This lift will provide easy access to a lot of great terrain. However, if you read the MDP for Crystal Mountain, they got shafted. Alternative 6 had this lift as a high speed quad with 2,400 PPH serving 48.55 acres of trails 36% Intermediate 3% Adv. Intermediate 61% Expert. This high speed quad would have more adequately served the area. See the chart below of the current lifts and the acreage served. The decision to go with a two seater has nothing to due with snow quality, that is just putting a positive spin on the decisions made by the powers that be. To me it looks like they wanted the morning glory route but were granted the northway route and the two seater may be a way of biding their time till they can get what they wanted while still opening up new lift serviced terrain in the mean time. The lines on the weekends will be fun. :( There are many further examples of proposals that were downsized or shot down in the MDP here: http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/mbs/projects/crystal_eis/download.shtml <table border="1"><tbody><tr><td>Map Reference Lift Name</td><td>Lift Type</td><td>Vert. 11. Yea, I would like an update. <o></o> <o></o>I hope you are absolved of any fault in this. <o></o> I <o></o>hate the litigious nature of certain segments of society and the greedy lawyers that promote and profit off it. The people who try to profit from their misfortune brought about by their own mistakes and carelessness hurt us all.
  12. I got my seasons pass for next year last weekend. Other than that I go as often as conditions allow.

    Hip Pain

I have been mountain biking, riding bmx, and inline skating my whole life without any problems so I do not think that I have any inherent problem with my hip. I will try a lesser difference in angles and see if that helps.

    Hip Pain

I keep getting a pain in my forward hip joint. When I am riding I have noticed a tendency toward favoring the front foot. Also, I notice that although my knees are bent I am not utilizing my quads for shock absorption and the shock is being transmitted into the hip joint causing what feels like a bruising of the joint. This is my second year snowboarding and can ride any intermediate run with controlled turns at a decent speed and an am working on expert runs. Last year I was running a duck stance of +15/-15 and my width was at 20.5” and did not experience any issues with hip pain. This year I have gone to a forward stance starting at a width of 20.5 and +30/+6. With this setting it seemed that my rear leg was hardly engaged and the rear half of my body did not get nearly as fatigued as my front half. I spent about a half day making adjustments and tried 20 and 19.5 for widths. With the width at 19.5 my front foot was .5 back from center and my back foot was forward .5 this did not feel right and was promptly changed moving the front foot back to center for 20”. There is a 2 inch set back built in to the board. I also played with the angles and ended up increasing the rear angle to +18 and increasing the forward lean on the highback. With these settings I have noticed an improvement in front foot bias, engagement of my rear leg, and reduced hip pain, but the pain is still there and I am still working at getting to get my quads to adsorb the shock instead of transmitting it to the hip joint, and I suspect an angle adjustment may make further improvements. I have looked at the carvers almanac and www.cs.uu.nl/~daan/snow/stance.html and they offer the following advice <u1:p></u1:p> Use your shoulder width - 20 Use the distance from the floor to the middle of your kneecap - 20.5 Take your pants inseam and multiply by (Phi × 3 / 8) = 0.607, which is taken from Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. – 20.3345 I am 6’1” My current 20” feels right and according to the measurements above 20-20.5 should be right Stance Angles My angles were +30/+6 now +30/+18 this is better than prior but not perfect. I have noticed that the spread between front and rear angles seems to get smaller as larger angles are used. “You might be able to achieve a more comfortable stance if the front foot has an angle 3-5º higher than the back foot. Some people ride with a difference of as much as 15º between front and back(carvers almanac)” My thoughts are to try 2 things increased angle of the rear foot and trying a 19.5”width again by placing the rear foot to the forward most position As a side note, I am noticing a deformation of my Nidecker carbon 900 highbacks with the higher angle pressure is transmitted towards one side of the highback and they are permanently twisted with increased deformation towards the top of the highback. They are still functional however.
  15. I was looking getting a balance board, but for the price they charge I figure that I can go to home depot and build one at a fraction of the cost there are a few places on the internet with instructions http://www.xshelton.com/balance_board/ http://www.wejuggle2.com/rolabola.html

  22. Currently my work out regimen consists of the express zone at 24 hr fitness plus a few more exercises for my legs mon, tues, thurs, and fri, and a trail that I walk at lunch at work 5 days a week that takes about 30 min. I also have the goal of getting all but one of my CPCU tests done before the snow starts and the last test done some time around of the first of the year. This definitely keeps me busy but I am on tract to attain my goals. hallelujah!!<o></o> Check out this website http://www.exrx.net/Exercise.html ton of useful info<o></o> Effect of Squats and Plyometric exercise on Vertical Jump<o></o> <table class="MsoNormalTable" style="width: 60.3%;" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="60%"> <tbody><tr style=""> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 52.14%;" width="52%"> Exercise Mode<o></o> </td> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 47.86%;" width="47%"> Vertical Jump Increase<o></o> </td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 52.14%;" width="52%"> Squats<o></o> </td> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 47.86%;" width="47%"> 3.30 cm<o></o> </td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 52.14%;" width="52%"> Plyometrics<o></o> </td> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 47.86%;" width="47%"> 3.81 cm<o></o> </td> </tr> <tr style=""> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 52.14%;" width="52%"> Squats & Plyometrics<o></o> </td> <td style="padding: 1.5pt; width: 47.86%;" width="47%"> 10.67 cm<o></o> </td> </tr> </tbody></table><st1></st1> The effect of six weeks of squat, plyometric and squat-plyometric training on power production. http://www.exrx.net/ExInfo/PowerTidbits.html http://www.exrx.net/Lists/PowerExercises.html<o></o><o></o>
