  1. good boot but as said before quite soft and not very high. think mid high. very nice on an allmountain board in the powder or the moguls but not enough support to really lay em down on a race board. I rode them on an identity and the board rode me instead of the other way around. if the board and bindings are really stiff you will find the boots sloppy. On a more flexible binding like F2 they were great but not so good with cateks.
  2. I don't know much since I can't seem to get the site to speak english. what is the price range average? new and used. I am a big guy and I assume they are sized accordingly? 6'3" 265 LBS I also assume that I would need one that is designed more toward the beginner. I have alpine snowboarded for 14 years but I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing in this application. It looks very similiar to slalom waterskiing which I have done since my youth so maybe there is no problem learning the skwal. Anyway some information about choices would be great D
  3. I will look for TD's for you if you look for cheaper skwal for me. I just gotta try it.
  4. butt ass cold. ten below zero at the summit and blowing 40 -50 miles an hour. one run day. hero snow though unravished groom everywhere
  5. haven't ben in years but its high and should have good snow and great terrain. Its the biggest resort close to seattle. smaller hills might not have the snow that late.
  6. the intec has pins on the heel where as the fast has pins in the binding with holes in the heel. is there any consensus as to which is stronger or are we talking no significant difference? I like the idea of not having cables in my boot but the other looks like a hit on something might eject you. any thoughts?
  7. I have a set of f2 and a set of cateks. the f2 bindings flex alot i mean enough to make me wonder sometimes. the step up to cateks was hard because they have absolutely no give, none. the change makes you rethink your entire technique and it made me realize that the boots I had were to soft. you might end up buying stiffer boots if you go to cateks. I would also suggest the snow pro race binding. it has similiar construction to the f2 but is beefed up considerably. your son isn't big enough to worry about breaking them yet. D

    WTB: 27.0 boots

the ones I have feel narrow and short for size. I wonder if they would fit you. you sais the ones you had were 27.5 and just fit . Did you mean to big or to small?I measure 27.5 on the right foot and 28.0 on the left and the right one feels to short and to narrow and the left one feels like hell maybe they run small I don't know. anyone out there have any experience with the boot? they rode great if I could just feel my toes after. very solid in the bottom and smooth flex up top nice freecarve boot.
  10. they are both gone thanx bomber:biggthump
  11. I am on the mountain most thursdays and saturdays.
  12. lots of on and off advice flying around here. ankle inversion and eversion either way could cause fitting problems around the ankle. A collapsed arch tends to make the lower part of the foot wider. inserts or footbeds would be the answer for either all though I would tend to steer people away from the hard rigid variety for the aformentioned reasons pertaining to foot flex and heel movement. there are several great inserts available out there that are milled out of foam hard enough to support without sacrificing flex and movement. I use Amfit in my office and they only run about 100$ so cheaper too. Another possiblity is footleveler's a chiropractic brand that is quite effective but in the $200 range. I would recomend that you find a chiropractor who will adjust feet and get them checked any restriction in the way the bones of the feet move will be evident in spades at the end of the day in hardboots. anyone who wants a custom mold footbed for their boots needs to remember that they take up a little space in the boot and will make the boot feel smaller. its a great way to fill up some space in a boot that is a little big If anyone would like Amfits made email me I can send you a mold and get them made for you. you don't have to pay $200- $300 for a good orthotic. stay away from the hard ones for this application!
  13. I found it . should arrive wednesday
  14. can you tell me when mine were shipped? its been a while D
  15. taking best offer on the snow pros mentioned above.
  16. I have a set of s-race snowpro bindings they are new in box but older model. they fit up to a 9 or ten boot depending on length. good starteer binding. was asking 100 but will take best offer.
  17. how about snowpro s-race? I have aset new in box but several years old. complete but missing mounting screws. best offer
  18. still have one set new in box complete accept for the mounting screws which are pretty standard. best offer plus shipping these are great bindings for the ladies, kids or just the guys with small feet they fit up to a size 9 I think they are the same as the race smalls on snow pros web site
  19. yah I am watching those and the nordica's in a 28 I should manage to get something figured out here before to long.
  20. I am trying to survive the season on the cheap and use the time to figure out what I really need so I can gear up properly for next season. I am 6"3"and 265 not overweight just big. I get the impression that I need a long stiff board and similiar boots and bindings. I enjoy the sloppy old f2 bindings that I have that flex alot. but I have concerns about blowing one out. I rode some cateks yesterday that had no give at all and that just made my old junker boots feel like they weren't on my feet half the time. the stiff board did its thing and I did mine and we didn't necessarily agree. I cranked the boots down until they bled and I could control it but it wasn't fun. I am way behind the curve here. ten years ago I was on an m6 assym with the old rail flexiplate bindings and rear entry skiboots. now I am back and the sport has evolved past me so its difficult to tell if I just suck or if I am fighting my gear.
  21. I will look into it. thermoflex liners aren't real easy to find though
  22. they are 275 as well so I guess getting larger liners is an option
