  3. whats your stance and where are you mounted on the board?
  4. isn't that one of bryan's boards? old snowboards?
  5. he emailed me pics. I tried to post them but they are to big. It is the part wood part blue one 2004/05 I am awaiting confirmation on its condition. pics are decent but not detailed. I have the same issues with the stuff I am trying to take pics of for the site. TO detailed and its to big to post, If its small enough to post you can't see the detail.
  6. mind if I ask why? I am interested in it for its geometry other than that I know little about it. SO just curious if it was a bum year or something. I actually like the exposed core look better.
  7. you will find this board easier to use for selling and buying if you enable your email on the site.

    Go Buckeyes!!!

Big N fans here. I also grew up a UW husky fan as dad is an alum. They had their glory years while I was a kid and haven't been the same since Don James left. I always loved to see those two play every couple yrs. It was always a knock down drag out fight and you didn't know who would win. PAC 10 ball can be that way to. I have seen a team with a losing season step up and beat a pac 10 rival just to deny them the rose bowl. good stuff. 1AA is definitely a more exciting venue now.

Thats always a tough tournament though! Fun to watch. Appalacian state put it together. MT has been in the top few most years lately:biggthump IT can all go away and make you cry though, just look at Nebraska since they fired solich. No more Power football the last of the great running programs has died:(

    stance width,

check the diaper drag out its the transition from sitting on the toilet. just widen the stance a little and your butt draggin days are over:lol:
  15. Get them siped before you mount them on the car as well. Unless you spend an inordinant amount of time on gravel roads. siping improves traction and lowers running temperatures so you get longer wear as well. basically they make thousands of tiny cuts in the tread face which increases the surface area for cooling and when the tire flexes the cuts open up slightly improving traction. long periods on gravel roads will wear a siped tire faster though. I believe therule of thumb is if you drive more than 35% on gravel don't get them siped. It works in MT
  16. The thermo liners found in many softies are rather thin and quite comfortable. I have actually tried an intuition liner that I found in a pair of garmont hard boots in my vans step ins with some success. if the boot is big enough to allow for the thicker liner you get a significantly stiffer ride. they are easily twice as thick as the stock liners though so you might have to pick up a bigger softie shell to make it work.
  17. lift plates will buy you a little space but unless the board is a real fatty I think its a tall order. Have you really tried a forward stance with maybe a little wider than usual spread? You are going to have to find a way to get to 0 overhang somehow. the wider stance might buy you some clearance as well by getting you into a wider part of the board. WE WIll want to hear how it goes.
  18. I swap between soft and plate bindings on my garage. It is however much stiffer and much solider construction than what you are proposing. that said it is a blast with plates. It carves well and because of the length and width it is a great powder board. It is also a custom board in the 400 - 500 dollar range wich makes it quite reasonably priced when compared to a mass produced burton. I run a softer binding for off piste stuff too. an old burton binding or something with a little flex in it. TD2 with a suspension kit would probably do it as well. the catek is so ridgid that you will probably either pull the inserts or break the board at the binding area.
  19. I carve extremely well on my "soft setup". ITs not really a soft set up though. ITs an alpine setup with soft boots and bindings. I ride an all mountain designed board with a forward stance. IE my toes are at the edge of the board and my heels are the same. This seems to be more critical than with hard boots as far as edge control goes. so rather than setting a specific angle I would fit my stance to the board. ITs around 45/40ish. I also ride a cant plate on the rear foot on occassion with mixed results. The point is that there are possibilities out there that need to be explored. I know that there are boots out there that won't kill my feet after 4 hrs but I haven't found them yet. Until they make boots for those of us that have really extreme width on our dogs, I will be half daying it 1/2 hard and 1/2 soft. Bonus is the new set of legs that comes from using completely different muscles to accomplish the task. AS long as the wax wears off the lateral 3/4 of an inch of the board and not the middle I am happy.

    Snow Job?

36 inches in the last week here. It started early this year and just when it seemed to be slacking off to another mediocre year it started dumping. We are having rather mild weather in town and throughout the valley but the mtns around us are gettting hammered with snow. the powder was hip deep and then some this last weekend. Not much in the way of carving but with powder that deep no one is crying! advice---- bring your powder stick if you come to carve you might need it. :biggthump

but I will try. I was in powder up to my chest yesterday. It really was incredible. twelve plus inches of fresh and the areas of the mtn where the wind pushed the snow really got deep. Good medicine was filling in your tracks so fast that it was a fresh run every time. I hit the glades off the TBAR on top and bailed once into the fresh head first I was in to my waist:D Lost a lot of energy gettting right side up again but thats the breaks. It has been snowing all day today so It is probably even better. eight inches in the last twenty four hours 27 inches in the last week http://www.bigmtn.com/index.php?a=sr/main

    Sleepy Legs

If you have a lumbar subluxation that has been around a while and Degenerative disc disease is setting in, (don't panic its easily dealt with) impact sports or weight bearing sports can aggravate the thinning disc and associated soft tissue causing it to swell. this swelling puts pressure on the nerve that exits at that level, in and around the IVF Since only ten percent or so of the average nerve is sensory related you may not experience pain in your back and still have symptoms in your periphery. A hard day of turns may be aggravatinng an old injury that was dormant until now. A good chiropractor will find it and adjust it relieving the pressure. he or she will also give you a program of care to restore the joint to proper working condition so you don't have the problem in the future. These episodes typically will increase in both occurrence and severity as the disc thins so ignoring the problem or covering it up with drugs will only put off the inevitable. Use ice on your low back after a hard day riding to help with the swelling and that will help short term.
  23. YOu get on the gondola in town and its a small town. So lodging is anything in Kellog. Its good terrain and good snow most years and this year the northwest is deep. you should be golden but check the ski report online regularly to see how its going. ITs only 2-3 hours from big mtn in montana if things aren't great when you get there and its even closer to schweitzer basin at sand point idaho so you'd have a backup plan.
