  1. Now you have a clear understanding why pressuring the nose is so important in your normal stance. Squeeze the turn with you knees, don't use your upper body to apply the pressure. It's kinda like a graceful dance under the pressure of 3g's.
  2. Not looking well for the weekend. Avalanche potential is pretty sizable at the highest ridges and peaks today and tomorrow but will mellow out soon. The snow will be... well... ridable until the next storm. The UAC forecasts are the most accurate to rely on so lets keep our fingers crossed for snow.
  3. Woops! Up too late, too little sleep. I see it now. Bordy I've got some money comming your way.
  4. I imagine the bails were like that for a reason. Advancements in snowboard technology have to start someplace.
  5. Oh my gosh the is the best thread. Almost everyone is saying what they would do, refuses to back down (pride won't allow it), and with the up most enthusiasm that their personal view on the sport is right. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11403461/ http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/2/inktomi348876.php I guess all the critics in here just don't understand snowboarding... according to Seth... who Jack knows personally BTW. Woah! Now your just getting down on their level. Nice good will ending though. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11403461/ http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/2/inktomi348876.php You guys... I don't think she is taking this serious enough. http://www.outdoornewswire.com/v/current/htdocs/etc/sa.php/63617465676f72794c6162656c3d4f6c796d706963536e6f77626f617264696e67266c6f636174696f6e3d323030362f30322f313134303139343034382672737349643d32383939 Ha! The New York Times took that quote out of context. Pfff.. not suprised, controversy make them money. Does not deserve a quote. Click link http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/18/sports/olympics/18cross.html http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/18/sports/olympics/18cross.html Oh, well okay... if you say so. To sum the post up, it all comes down to this- Hey Nate, has yours started moving yet? I can't seem to get mine going.
  6. Ha ha ha.... nate your awesome. Who cares what she will or will not do it. Speculation... ifs.... maybes.... it's over with.
  7. Why yes, a cork up my butt will stop the excess leakage. Good idea! If you put antiperspirant all over your body then I would say yes, that is definately bad for your body because you need to sweat. If it's under the arm or on the feet, then at least 90% of my body can still sweat. Also, for some, it would be nice for everyone around them if deodorant or antiperspirant was used. My feet put out an unbelievable amount of sweat. They saturate the socks and liner and that makes my feet cold when I slow down on a cold day. Great advice from the omniscient dsub. How do you know all this stuff all time? I like aluminum under my arm pits and on my feet thank you. It keeps me on track with my ten year plan to be admitted into a nursing home for alzheimers.
  8. What is being a professional anyway. I mean, are there any rules of conduct that Bode is supposed to adhere to? Could they have taken his comment out of context? Was he tired of microphones shoved is his face with questions that pretty much ask, "Bode, Bode, why did you suck on that run?" We don't know. All we get is a glimse and sound bites. If there were no big bad money whores, who would fund the race events?
  9. But hey, it wont smell like a heineken anymore. :) Problem solved! Five dollar donation please. ;)
  10. lots of speculation and hearsay. The athletes are people and can decide to do whatever they wish. If the ones at the top don't have the same values as you, well, thats their choice. And, if they complain about sellouts yet still compete; so what. Some people try hard for goals all their life yet never achieve them; that's life.
  11. Well, you've answered your own question: Sidecut. A board that is stiff doen't necessarly mean it will ride well and the length of the board doesn't imply stability. And, if you find the board that makes the same turn no matter how hard you push it, let me know. It you want to put all your eggs in one basket, buy a board a retail or have one custom made. Buying used race stock boards in the classified saves money and resells with minimal loss. You can also get an idea of what brand of board you like, produced at a custom level, and then decide if you want to spend the money.
  12. JJ has got a point. I wouldn't put all my stock on stiffness though, it's the boards overall characteristics. How often you go out and how hard do you want to work the board can help define what kind of board you want.
  13. If you eat enough garlic it will change that smell in your boots to something else you consume. ;)
  14. The Billy that is married. He can be a brother and treat you like family, make you feel comfortable in no time. I miss The Canyons too, couldn't afford it this year. The snow is typical Utah best. The backcountry is 5% fluff, super stable and a much better place to be than dodging the holiday crowds today.
  15. Forgive me for any repetition, I skipped over many of the posts. Thin socks and try using an antiperspirant on your feet. Solves sweaty feet and will also make you feet a little warmer by eliminating moisture.
  16. If you pressure the nose hard enough, you can get it to turn tighter than that. If you are switching from a freecarve board at 15m to race stock at 15m for the first time; the stiffness of the board may give you the impression that the sidecut is larger than it really is. I've watched Billy Bordy rail his Burner on tight runs at The Canyons and cut an arc smaller than others on a 15m radius board.
  17. I don't know. You got the Visa thing wrong and we'll see about Ted Ligety on 2-25. Maybe the news is giving a "spin" on the olympics. What... noooo... they never would do that. Televisions ratings are low so lets make some assumptions why. Lindsey still got a silver.
  18. Spin is such a loaded, over abused word. Does Ross Rebagliati ring any bells. I know for some of us here but how about the rest of the world. They should because he "disgraced" olympic snowboarding in its debut.
  19. Doesn't sound like fun and games... Not spin, emotion.
  20. You freely throw out your opinion, look foreword to hearing others.
  21. Yep, I'm putting my place up for sale. Situated on the border of Utah County and Salt Lake County, 45 minutes from the Park City and the Cottonwood resorts and 35 minutes from Sundance. Some of the world's best hanggliding and paragliding is within three miles, and, for all my honkies out there, Cablea's just one mile away. You can check it out at http://www.obeo.com/229371
  22. Helmet sent. Check your hotmail account.
  23. Way to big for you. As much as I would like to get the last on off my hands, it is vital that a full face helmet fits properly so you don't get hit in the face by an oversized helmet. eddie
  24. An old man calls into my corporate office and leaves a message on the voicemail bragging about his shenanigans while intoxicated at one of our stores. I recorded the message to Windows sound recorder, but, it only does a one minute recordings at a time so there's three parts for this. Drunk in Public 1 of 3 Drunk in Public 2 of 3 Drunk in Public 3 of 3 I'd like to have it as one clip but I couldn't figure out how.
  25. Well, both of them have been sent to ebay. Helmet 1 Helmet 2
