OT: Dog Nut

Billy... she only had her backpack on. You thanked my for picking up her poop at PCMR during the WTC, well, now I don't carry it (the poop) anymore, she does. I was hiking with her around PC before I met up with that rep from Head, who made me late for your place. She jumped out while I was getting the Air Tanker out of my car and you came outside so I left it on her. Also, I'm too lazy to take it off. Damn dog is a pooping machine. I don't know why I reply. Let me save you the response because I can predict it. Bordy's Reply: Sure...whatever man. Saved you a post.

The dog boots are from Muttluks . There is a Cabellas a half mile from my home and sometimes I go into the markdown section to see if there is anything cheap for my dog . I got the boots there for $20 (normal retail was like $40) but I recommend the Granite Gear boots. They are way easier to get on the dogs feet and just as durable. In fact, any of the Granite Gear dog items are bomber and very reasonably priced. The trick for getting her to wear gear was to start when she was a young puppy and have her wear gear all the time. If I'm introducing something new I start slow and encourage her through play or treats. She forgot about the boots after I pulled out her Kong on a rope. (A Kong is the best dog toy ever!) If you rescue an older dog it's all about finding the right dog.

That's rad D-Sub! I can get my dog to do a lot of things but I don't think I can put goggles on her. Bordy and his wife made fun of me when they saw the backpack on her but whatever. The guy that reps for Granite Gear, MSR, Princeton tech, and whatever else, was here a week ago and saw all the gear I have for my dog. He was stoked and I think he said that he'll get us a couple of the new stuff balls or stuff footballs for me and the shop.

OT: Dog Nut

It was the stares from the hunters that I ran into last night that made me realize that I'm a dog nut. I was hiking off-trail in the woods as the sun was setting and I happen to come across a few deer hunters on their way home. My dog ,Soleil, was wearing her hiking gear and as we passed and all they could do was stare without saying a word. It occured to me that she has more outdoor tech gear than most weekend armchair hunters. Her gear includes: *Saddle Bags *Bright yellow insulated rain jacket *A couple of collapsable bowls *Dog boots (I'm tired of mending cut feet) *Princeton Tech flashing dog light (for night) *Small cow bell so that she is not mistaken for a deer Items on the way *Dog boots with seal skin bottoms for grip on the snow *Towing harness to drag a sled to my friend's Yurt I gotta quit my job at the shop. . I spent a while looking for a pic for it on the web. Thank goodness I can read some french. eddie
10. You crash every once in a while when you push your limits. crash eddie came from walking away alright from some gnarly crashes (knock on wood) without injury. Riding switch or even going from regular foot to goofy, I like trying a little of everything.
11. Oh yea, you don't need a round tail to learn how to alpine switch though.
12. Ride switch, ride switch, ride switch! I think you learn much more about carving, board flex, and technique when you try to carve switch. You'll understand what I mean when you try for yourself.

Slush

Like Billy said, a good wax job with good base structure helps with 90% of the game. Wider boards float better in the slush. Staying centered and make a bit of technique adjustment (you can't ride the board like you can in the middle of the winter). For me, a stiffer board also helps with the nose folding, but it's still a technique problem for most.
14. Have some fun, get a tierney ride.
15. Balance yourself on a yoga ball. They're cheap, easy to find, and mucho hardo to stay on top of. But, if you find that you want a bongo board you can get one at hardbooter.com. eddie
16. I am thinking about buying a T-board and remember seeing the bomber discount not too long ago. Is that offer still standing? eddie
17. I may be interested in the 2001 Sigi board. E-mail me @ E_risser1@yahoo.com about the purchase and shipping details for the board and I'll get in touch if I have the money.

alpine air

If you have the money you can get a Fozz board with a large radii too. Basicly a high-end freeride Prior board.
19. Has anyone seen the new releasable bindings by Burton? They're not built for safety, in fact they are built for the jibbers so they don't have to unstrap their bindings to hike back up the hill. I think they are called Fusion.
20. He came off strait. Look at the nose flexing, it's a 196 F2.

22. I spent a month with the stiffer gold RAB springs on and did not like it as much as the 5 position lean.
23. Yea, I hear some horror stories from small aircraft pilots in the area.
