  1. I showed up to Sol V on Tuesday/Thursday and much to my surprise found other carvers there. Keith, Jim and Heather were on my "private" hill just ripping it up! They were on vacation from North Carolina and somehow found Sol V. I had the pleasure of riding with them for two days and had a blast. These guys are the real deal too... sporting original Pure Carve jackets and have carved since the beginning of carve time... true pioneers in our sport. Over these two days... I also saw Carla (local racer/instructor), Del (local instructor), Matt (newly converted), and two other random riders who I had never met that just dusted off their gear from the '90s. In six years, I've never seen another HBer at Sol V unless I dragged them up there myself. I'm not sure what the heck is going on here, but it's for sure cool to see! I talked gear and group rides to all of the above mentioned. If you want more info email me at: ssegress at gmail dot com
  2. Yep! These guys are the real deal... both have been carving since the beginning of carve time. True pioneers of our sport!
  3. Sooo... the hot tub doubles as the raffle tub?
  4. Like I always say: The quiver is alive... it inhales and exhales unfortunately it's holding its breathe this year
  5. Imagine my surprise when I pulled up to my favorite "small" hill to carve for the day and found other hard booters there. I had a blast riding with Keith, Jim and Heather! They were on vacation from NC Hope you guys come back for more... and look me up when you do! Jason - You've met these guys... I think at Sugar Doesn't sound like they do much on the computer but I would highly recommend riding with them if you can. Great folks and awesome riders too! Congrats on your mini-me Jason!
  6. I'm not sure everyone is seeing the official thread for this event http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=287628#post287628
  7. haven't had this much fun reading a thread since the DT Custom
  8. In case you didn't know... http://www.alpinepunk.com/ LOVE my metal burner
  9. You'll want to look south for deeper snow... that's been the trend so far If you make it to Winter Park give me a shout.. I'll give ya the tour Loveland and Abasin usually sees the largest groups of carvers
  10. I have been running UPZ boots in Burton Race Plate and Ibex plates for years with no issues at all. My boot mondo is 27-27.5 and the toe/heel blocks cover a small amount of the center disk but not any screws in the disk. This is a good set up but you are very limited in terms of cant/lift options.
  11. I use blue I understand it is more mild than red... but I still use it sparingly and careful not to get it on any plastic. I've heard stories about improper use of locktite causing problems... like inserts on a board loosening up or coming out. I would imagine it could eat up plastic boot material rather quickly
  12. For the first hour CJ, BB and me were the only ones on the hill. A few jibbers showed up later but they don't ride the same place we do. Hope some others can come check this place out... lots of fun!
  13. +1 Unless you make it to some of the southern colorado ski hills where there has been more snow fall... BB's recommendation is currently right on. Keep an eye on the weather here though... alot can change in a month and we hope it does
  14. Here is another choice for a crutch if you're into that sort of thing http://www.betterbraces.com/procare-high-waist-compression-below-knee-garment/ I've worn mine only once so far and liked it alot... Be sure to check out the sizing chart... not like buying a pair of jeans
  15. TED!! Enjoyed riding with you yesterday! Post here when you're coming up to WP again... we would be stoked to ride with you more It sounds like you are serious about newer gear. Your gear is obviously working fine (or you are working it), but I've got two different types of boots in your size, a couple binding choices, and several boards. You are welcome to give any/all of that stuff a spin anytime. My email address: ssegress at gmail dot com
  16. Yes... toe drag is a total drag Those of us who like the SW may want to rethink our angles or add a riser plate...? (especially the clysdale class) Keep in mind though... the vid pictures the yellow E-pads and they move quite a lot more than blue E-pads
  17. Bummer E! I lost both canting disks on the same boot on the same run once... I had to go to the hardware store and throw together different washers and a screw to get them back on the snow. Bola styled me with parts to replace the washers and I started using locktight on every screw after that.
  18. WOW! That's a super cool vid guys... thanks for posting it up That looks like the yellow E-pads in the SWs...? The same video with yellow vs. blue E-pads would be interesting...
  19. CJ is coming up tomorrow We plan on riding Sol Vista tomorrow night, WP Sunday, and then watching the Super Bowl Sunday evening Feel free to join us
  20. Four riders in so far for tomorrow night 2/6 Just $10 for three hours of riding!
