Wendell
I'm moving over from soft to hard boots after 15 years and looking to buy an all-mountain carver, maybe a Donek Axxess. Can anyone recommend a size? I'm 195lb and tall. Problem is, I still want to spend time in trees and bumps. In VT trees are tight. Thinking of 167cm or 172cm? Any suggestions? RDY_2_Carve
I have a 167 and I'm 5'6" 165lbs. I think I could handle the 172 as well. The 167 carves nice and you could easily whip it around in the trees. With your extra weight I would go for the 172 or perhaps even bigger... Speedzilla
I started out on a 170. Then moved on to several boards in the 157-173 range. I have now found that I really enjoy boards in the 180 range, my current favorite is a 186. I'm 6' tall and weigh 195-200, depending on what I had for breakfast. Mike T
I'm 190 - 195 pounds and have the 172... it's great in the trees and very good for carving. I would definitley recommend the 172 if you want it for all-around use.
Sinecure
172 Will be great. You won't need bigger in New England.
Michael Matola
Delurking, registering, and taking a leap... Wendell -- Did you and I take a few runs together at Sugarbush, one day between Christmas and New Year's? I was riding my Donek Wide (OK, I'm a soft-booter, but I lurk here at bomberonline) and you were asking about it because you were considering one of their carvers? If so, it's a small, small world! Good luck with your choice! -Mike
roman
all i can say is, try a few lenghts yourself! one loves the longer rides and other just the opposite... i get over many lenghts to find out i prefer longer stiks... don't be shy to try:biggthump
Wendell
Wow, my first time at Bomber and any talkgroup for that matter. Do you really think this Internet thing will stick? Thanks to everyone for the replies. Looks like a 172 is for me. Sean said the same. Mike, yes, that was me at Sugarbush. And you thought I wasn't paying attention. What about bindings?
