Can't even recall where I got it or how much I paid for it...I might have traded my Burton AIR for it, but not certain. It has always been good to me. Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to ride this one due to lack of a compatible binding :( I picked this board up at <I>Play It Again Sports</I> unridden for $50! They had planned on turning it into a bench because nobody rides Alpine board anymore . I had to practically beg them to sell it to me. If you are at Mission Ridge, I'd be tempted to make a run over that way on the new year, possibly Monday the 2nd, if conditions turn around. NateW Posted December 25, 2005 Report Share Posted December 25, 2005 If it isn't Burton-compatible, you could try what I did to a Nitro Diablo with oddball inserts... Cut a piece of 1/2" polyethylene about six inches square and drill it to match both sets of inserts. Put T-nuts under the 4x4 holes, and countersink the other set of holes from the top. Then bolt the plastic to the board, and mount the binding to the top, using the t-nuts. I drilled out the plastic to save weight, cut the corners down, etc. The weight savings was negligible though. Good news: you can mount modern bindings without marring the board, and in my experience it's very reliable. I eventually broke the bindings, and the board, but my adaptor plates never failed. Bad news: you have the added weight of an extra set of extra-long mounting bolts, plus t-nuts, plus the heavy plastic plates. It didn't bother me, but it was definitely there. Your mileage may vary. It took a couple hours to build the adaptors, but they worked well for me. I bought my polyethylene from TAP plastics (http://www.tapplastics.com/) but it's my understanding that plastic kitchen cutting boards are made of the exact same stuff. You can cut it and drill it with regular wood tools. When you drill it, you get confetti instead of sawdust. :-) Ah, memories... I really enjoyed that Diablo. And felt like an idiot when I broke it. You can tell if it's a Burton compatiable format by checking if any of the triangles in there are 42mm apart.
