hydrop
Hey y'all. So I ended up buying this board here back in 2010. Rode it like a bullet! But out of ignorance I kept sticking it in the snow outside the lodge, tail first. Eventually the snow got between the glass and Zylon top sheet and it delaminated on one corner. Otherwise the board is in great shape. It's FOR SALE again! Any interest?
Algunderfoot
Hopefully you won't be doing that again, expensive lesson. I won't even put a board in a bus or gondola rack....
DMKW
Did you have a price in mind? A closer pic of the tail would be great too.
hydrop
I have no idea what they're going for, specially in this condition. I did a Google search and it brought me back to the original post of when I bought it back in 2010, so there's not much info on this board. Not sure if that makes it a rare expensive find, or junk. But so long as it goes to someone who can fix it and enjoy it, I'm open to any offers.
rjnakata
That core material is some sort of soft plastic that is only about the last 2" of the tail. I had the same problem, but worse in that the 2" of core has to be replaced (this example however looks very fixable without replacement). I don't believe the problem is caused from propping it up in the snow. What is the core material and can the community suggest replacement material? Nice board!
NateW
That looks like it would be repairable with epoxy and clamps.

Typically ABS is used, e.g.: https://www.skibaumarkt.de/en/product/tipspacer-white-3-mm/ Googling snowboard building materials will give you US based shops as well. I normally use base material (UHMWPE) as a spacer myself myself because I prefer thinner material. Not much to it, so any plastic that does not turn brittle when cold would do. Just make sure to quickly run a flame over it (after sanding) so it bonds to the epoxy. For alpine boards I prefer aluminum (https://www.skibaumarkt.de/en/product/ski-tail-alu-330-x-40/) for robustness.
