D-Sub
So...coiler is here. FINALLY! Im waiting to ride it as I am considering having a clearcoat applied to the topsheet. It was shipped to me with what appears to be no real finish on the topsheet. Other coilers Ive seen had a gloss to them, this one is "flat" anyone see any reason to go that little extra? will it affect the flex? can I truly make it more durable? waitin to hear from bruce, too, but wanted to see what others had to say (thanks much to joel, doug, and bruce for facilitating getting this to me!) D-Sub
PR184II, 19cm, WCC, black topsheet with blue tribal actually looks like the one posted in the classifieds right now.
freecarver
D-Sub hi. How long did you wait for? I'm on the list for the next season too.
D-Sub
well...got on the list in MARCH last year, BUT...didnt actually PLACE the exact order until mid december...so...technically only two months from actual order to delivery, which is pretty damn reasonable imo! had I actually said "this is the board I want" without all the questions and hedging on my part, I think Id have had it at the beginning of this season or so. freecarver
According what I ride in the forum you are lucky getting your board so early. I e-mailed Bruce a week or 10 days but no replay. Is this common even with the mails?
Gtanner
Hi Freecarver, Bruce has been at SES for the past week, and have been incommunicato. He's very good about emails normally so just be patient. -Gord
Gtanner
Hi D-Sub, Rob Cox (ARCrider) here in Ontario rides a 172AM with the orange flame "flat" topsheet. I remember asking him about it and he didn't mention any change in the ride itself. He also said that it allowed for you to write things on the topsheet with a sharpie. Send him a note and maybe he can provide some more insight. -Gord
D-Sub
oh...I meant would putting a clearcoat affect the ride, stiffness, etc. was just a bit surprised at the "flat" topsheet. wonder what determines the outcome? only Bruce knows I guess thanks for the note tho. jason_watkins
I have this mental image, of D-sub, pushing a door that won't open, his hand next to a sign with the "PULL". But I'll shut up now, because he's bigger than me.
D-Sub
oh come on homey its not THAT bad wait...Ive done that before. Chris Houghton
D-Sub, you could put that clear sheet back on with some epoxy so that it protects the finish. Just make sure you wipe around the edges so it doesn't drool out. haha like a stoned monkey

Chris Houghton
Dave, you got one of the nicest topsheets, and according to that post on the classifieds, it's really rare! Take good care of it, and we are all waiting with bated breath for a full ride report as soon as you have a chance to go ride. Hell, take all 4 boards and give us the full monty - well this is like that, and them are like these......

Jon Dahl
you would think that a little Monday riding would have been in order, rather than all these posts! I wouldn't even take my 2 season old Volkl out today for all the rocks I had to dodge @ Stevens Pass. Good lookin' ride you got there! Chris Houghton
Spelling mistake, yeah right. You'll need to search for an audience that appreciates your sense of humour. Why don't you check the freecarve and extremcarving forums, and see how D-Sub is doing there? Hope you've got 50 bucks ready.
