lordmetroland
Man, surrounded by my stiff boots, aluminum chassis bindings, long board, sintered UHMW base, metal edges and helmet, there is something about watching this video that makes me feel distinctly like a chump-a**. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zDoEM2-LQA
www.oldsnowboards.com
As well you should!!! :) The CURE is on it's way!! Once you unbox your latest sled you will feel like you can just jump on it and go straight at 60mph too!! Of course if you plan to turn, the FR2s waiting for you should help ! lordmetroland
Maybe I'll drill it for rubber straps and a rope handle, lace up the Sorels and see what kind of fiber I'm really made of.
SunSurfer
The long shot, with the rider dwarfed by the slope behind him and straightlining down reminded me of watching videos of surfers take on giant swells at Jaws.
carvedog
Blake is a friend of mine. Ripping skier still and his son Tai almost made it to Sochi for skier halfpipe. He also helped me make my splitboard years ago when I was working in his cabinet shop during the fall to make enough money for the ski pass. Good stuff. I always get a chuckle out of this scene. I wouldn't say he is anti-snowboard now, he just feels it is an inferior way to go down the hill. He puts up with me cuz I carve and don't scrape things up. dingbat
Get a hold of this film: Purple Mountain Majesty Guys in the 30's making turns on wood boards with no edges while maching through a cut in the woods down the side of Greylock. Really puts into perspective how easy we've got it.
