Guest
I'm currently using oakley crowbars, and I'm not thrilled with the peripheral vision these give me. Maybe I'm too used to my motorcycle helmet (which has great vision) or I've just gotten more nervous carving. Does anyone have a goggle they really like for peripheral vision? Also, I'm looking into maybe using sport type sunglasses instead. Not as much face protection, but at least I'm protecting the eyes and with some models there is almost 0 vision loss (e.g., no frame on the bottom half of the lenses). Does anyone run with something like this? Nick
Neil Gendzwill
I use Oakley Eye Jackets whenever the weather allows, not a big fan of goggles. I doubt they make the exact model, but these are the ones that make you look like Spiderman. Good wind protection, no problem with my contacts. If the light is flat or if it's cold and/or snowy, I have to switch to goggles.
Corey
I struggled with the same issue, Nick. The cheap Marker goggles that were on sale everywhere a couple of years ago gave me a wider field of view than Oakleys, but I just got a set of Zeal Level goggles through Air Miles. They're HUGE! I can barely see the edges even when trying to look out the side. I think I'm going to like these. My wife says they are kind of silly looking, but I don't care. http://www.zealoptics.com/level.html
Guest
Corey, those look decent. I'm trying to get by on the cheap here, but the zeal's you linked have given me a few ideas for additional search terms. I was actually looking at these - they appear to be pretty wide. Plus, if I need to fight a fire while I'm riding, I'm good to go: http://www.opticsplanet.com/ess-firepro-fs-goggles-740-0377-wildland-firefighting-rescue-and-ems-protective-eyewe.html My other thought was just basically safety glasses (not necessarily these but the same style) http://www.opticsplanet.com/wileyx-sunglasses-saber.html Thanks for the input
Pat Donnelly
For Goggles, check out http://www.habervision.com/ I have the Riva which offers the widest view. Suggest ordering with a spare CLEAR lens for either night ridding or low visibility days http://www.habervision.com/product/Riva.aspx Sunglasses (with air shield) http://www.7eye.com/AirShield-c-253/ BOMBER eye glasses - most frames have foam on the outer edge to block wind. These frames are great for water sports as they float. http://www.bombereyewear.com/shop/glasses-d1/polarized-sunglasses-c3/
Johnny
I don't know if you've found a solution, but I saw these recently: http://www.mec.ca/product/5034-846/bliz-eyewear-proflip-unisex/?f=10+50006+50024
