Hey Alex,

Did you ever make contact with the Burmingham Hip implant prosthetic supplier I had sent you? They have a ready to go article template, you would get input from a succesfull recipient (e.g. me), my orthopedic surgeon is also on board, and they would be a paid advertiser. let me know if you still wanted to persue this.

Thanks,

Al

hi alexis, -

in your upcoming issue, my brother and i would love to get a story in about our fellow carver richard spector, 'the general', as we lovingly call him (even though he was a mere low-ranking marine grunt) . BUT, he spent some 32(?) days on iwo jima!!! AND at 86 going on 87 this year...he's still carving - - beautifully and smooth! he learned at 60! i'm sure you've seen him, if not already met him...he's been to many many sesions in aspen. look for him this year (not sure if he's planning on attending the actual session or not, but i know he wants to make a couple trips there this season). i KNOW he will not want the attention, but how can we let a story like this pass our carving world up!? he's a huge inspiration, a model citizen and person, a hero (in a way)...the greatest generation, and all around just am amazing guy...our adopted grandfather.

scott and pitched this to snowboard life years back (or transworld snowboarding...i forget), but they had absolutley no interest (still don't get that!?)

give me your thoughts on how this might happen...what a deadline may be. how many words/pages we may have to work with...

thanks very much!, -

christian (and scott) phillips - - aka, the phillips brothers.
