thump
hi all, hoping some one can steer me in the right direction.just picked up some burton winds size 28.0,my foot measures 27.0, i thought that would equate to good fit since i wear size 10 street shoes and burton softies(still freeride some).the toes are tight as hell, think the liners will pack down or do i need a fitters help, thermofits,or different boots.got the boots cheap and don't have $$ to burn.any thoughts are appreciated. thanks-bob
zachp13
I had a pair of those up until last season. They are rather tight in the toe box and are extremely cold. They do pack out rather quickly but a pair of thermofit liners can make a huge difference.

philfell
Give them 5 hard days on snow and I'll beat that they become too big. The best way to see if the boot is the right size for you is to take the liner out of the shell and put your foot so your toes are barely touching the end of the shell. Stand with even pressure on both feet you should have NO more that two fingers of space between your heel and the back of the boot. Also Burtons tend to fit people with narrow feet better than wide feet. If your feet are narrow, just ride your boots a little bit they will get better. If you have a wide foot a thermoflex might be the call. But like I said don't give up on them yet, nothing packs out liners better than riding them. fishrising
Mine packed out pretty good...except...I had have the toe box stretched out with heat, by a boot fitter. I also had foot beds put in, I forgot the brand though...
Kent
Perhaps I'm reading this thread wrong as it's already been a long day. But, your foot measures a full mondo point less than your boots! Dude..seriously, you're risking injury. Buy a new boot, these are waaaaaaay too big. With your logic, size 31.5 would feel even MORE comfy! Sorry for the ribbing, but you need to get the proper size boot. I have size 10 street shoes and wear a 25.5 shell...... Fin...can you change my BOL name from Kent to "Boot Nazi"?
Rob-CanCarve
I attempted to get a set of Burton Reactors to fit my wide feet - tired thermo's, stretching the shells, othotics, etc - never did work. My recommendation is try to pack them out in the first couple of days out - if they are still to tight - buy other boots (Raichle or Head) and sell your Burtons to someone with thin feet. It is not worth going through a season of pain, to realize it is not going to work for you in the spring. I did this 3 seasons ago - pain so bad I couldn't walk after a session. Bought a set of Raichles (one size smaller) and they have the fit of bedroom slippers since day one. Just my 2 cents All the best, Rob
philfell
Thanks Kent, I didn't want to be so cruel, but he's right. Do the shell fit I explained and see for yourself if the boot is right for you or not.
