Buck Hill 2011/2012

Same USSA racing at buck today, but Warners and Redtail were good and as the snow was fast, fun was had.

Tomorrow should be very good with some heavy duty grooming going on to get rid of all those ruts, and it maybe the last optimum carving day of the season. Sadly I hurt my back putting the groceries away this afternoon. Just hoping I can get out before the warm up takes it toll.

got to buck around 12pm.

snow conditions were soft and HERO!

so, if you stayed home because you thought conditions would suck, then you lost out. no ice, just carvy snow.

i was really getting into it. it was near 60F. it was a strange sensation coming down the run with a warm wind. i was sweating. probably the warmest i've ever rode on a board.

tried oly and it was too rutted. same with milk. crossroads was the place to be. the other regular skiers were riding the same line as myself.

spotted a ski patroller riding a rossi freecarve. i have the exact same year and model -- first board i ever bought. rode up with him and he told me that he just bought a Volkl Renn Tiger off ebay. doesn't have bindings yet. hopes to be joining us on sundays at buck. another patroller on snowboard was talking to me about alpine too. something he would like to try.

the guy in the green is the ski patroller who carves on teles. he wanted to try riding in hardboots for a couple runs. he had an old burton board.

stayed till about 3pm. i was soaked when i left. till next year!

yeah, a friend (i call Classic Trent, not to to be confused with this Neo Trent) took his waverunner out. i had told him that i saw boats on Crystal. it didn't take much motivation to install the battery and take it for a spin. technically its winter. seriously, who jetskis in winter?!? :biggthump

extremely windy. the water was cold when it broke over the nose of the waverunner. the wind kicked the spray into our faces. i wore a windbreaker, gloves, booties. after awhile it didn't bother us. in fact, it didn't feel all that cold standing in the water.
