skategoat
Okay, sorry for the ski question but I know a lot of you guys are closet two-plankers. I noticed some phenonemal deals on last year's Atomic R11s and SX11s. $399 Canadian (no bindings). I guess the retailers are clearing space for Atomic's new line. Does anyone have experience with these skis? What's the difference between the two? I've read spectacular reviews on the R11. 17m radius on the 180 for both skis. I haven't skied in 3 years so I need guidance. I'll mostly be on hardpack and groomed powder. I'm 190, 5'10" aggressive, fast skier. Should I go for the 170 or 180? EDIT: Are either of those skis useful in moguls?
Rob-CanCarve
Skategoat: Where did you find the deals - my parents ar looking for new skis and Atomic was one of the brands they were interested in. Which shop - I am in Toronto. Thanks Rob
skategoat
Rob - latest SportChek flier. Not exactly my first choice for a ski shop but what the hey. Just don't let them attempt a tune. I'm going tonight to snag a pair of SX11, I think.
bobdea
most skiers like them they have a unique feel is what most people say I think it is due to their consrtuction I took a run on some 10.12s a couple seasons ago turny ski if I could ski better I bet that ski would have been a blast that was my only time skiing in YEARS so it could have been a bad judgement
Neil Gendzwill
Trying to remember the R11 - I know the local SportChek has been trying to dump a pair of BetaCarve 10.20s for a while now, but they want $500 and those skis are at least 4 seasons old. You gotta watch those guys with the really old stock and the seconds.
skategoat
I'll be careful. Read more of the flier and they say no GST/PST on Thursday (tomorrow) and Smartwool socks are 40% off. Might be worth a visit.
