D2So
Hi, I am looking to get either a Volkl RT 168 GS or an 162 SL but I wanted to get clarification on the construction and possibly characteristics of each of the boards. My main concern regarding construction is the Titanal in the two boards. From what I've been reading the GS has both inlays and upper and lower sheets, while the SL has either only inlays or no titanal in it at all. I like to ride my alpine board (an older model renntiger) for the whole day so I would like the board to be able to handle the chopped up afternoon snow. So I am hoping the more titanal the more damp it is. Thanks
BlueB
I had an old GS 168, yellow with black Vs right through, then later I had a 173, black/dark grey "tiger stripe". The 173 was way better board. It definitelly has some titanal in it, but not quite the same thing as the new tech. Yet, it rode very well. I never had an SL, so I can not comment. I kind of remmember, reading here, that it's quite livelly.

teach
I have the black/dark grey tiger stripe 168 and it's very nice in crowded conditions but not so nice in chopped up snow. It's just too short to soak it up and it becomes a lot of work.
