oldkey
....the Hyland Race is the same weekend as the Mt. Bachelor Race to the Cup. Glad that there are four alpine races this year. Hope to see the Buck Hill crowd at the races this year. Any news on the Carving Cup at Buck? Always a blast......
ncermak
out of curiosity - Does Jay do both SL and GS on alpine days? if not, how do you know what to prep for?
Scuff
Noah: Oh yeah. For Upper Midwest Series the format is usually SL in the Morning, followed by GS after lunch break. I think Midwest Best series also the same order. oldkey: Saw the conflict - wonder if that Hyland race date is concrete? Glad to see the addition of another alpine event. Last year at Giants Ridge - With Sat. schedule of 2xSL & 2xGS... followed by Sun 2xSBX events... = one long and tiring weekend. Good for young riders with stamina, but makes a really tough season for riders who get sick (or injured) that one weekend. No word on Carving Cup - have not made contact with BH race staff yet... (I should ping our inside informant/promoter Speedzilla) Have a good feeling that snow conditions will be awesome for the event. With C.C. history of Powder/Ruts/Fog/Rain ....They've gotta be.. oldkey
....that's the Sunday after the Steamboat Race to the Cup. Patrick, Meghan and Scuff will be arriving back from Steamboat that afternoon. That's three Kesslers off the hill.....may only leave one Kessler on the course unless there have been some new purchases this year..... :)

powell1.8
Nice job with the pics. It looks like the light was flat, but you were still able to get some definition in the snow and the riders pretty crisp and clean. I have a tough time with that. oldkey
....the only way I know how to help flat light is to get close to the subject. Evbery shot was at 1600. It was fun climbing up the hill - didn't have to work out either day.

I was trying to get some more color and composition. I think I will try more multiple gate shots in the future.....
