Gecko
I would stay away from the Avalanche and the Sims Sparkle because they are Cap construction, the 24/7 is unknown to me though the specs look nice the Mystique claims to be a better Carving board and I like the colors:biggthump

carvin29
Personally, I don't think those are the best brands. Here are a couple burtons http://cgi.ebay.com/Burton-Feelgood-07-156cm-close-to-brand-new_W0QQitemZ270329048695QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSnowboarding?hash=item270329048695&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 http://cgi.ebay.com/BURTON-FEEL-GOOD-156-SNOWBOARD-SALOMON-BINDINGS_W0QQitemZ270331094107QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSnowboarding?hash=item270331094107&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Guest shrederjen
My favorite girly specific board was a K2 Luna.... http://www.rei.com/product/758497?cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-datafeed-_-product-_-na&mr:trackingCode=9CAF6A5E-21E4-DD11-9B0F-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA
bobdea
if your feet are on the big side for a girl a standard mens board will do you fine. yeah, burton is solid BTW. my best advice would be to skip the low end boards, look for something that is a higher end model but has been sitting around for a couple years. I picked up a new old stock atomic firestarter for $150 shipped that had been sitting around in a shop for two seasons that originally listed for $600. let me tell you, the difference between a $250 retail price board and $600 is HUGE! for example, with my boards I've ridden both a burton bullet (cheapo deck like $300 list) compared to a burton baron with similar specs but high end construction was like night and day. http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-ARBOR-MYSTIC-155CM-SNOWBOARD_W0QQitemZ180320223122QQcmdZViewItem http://www.rei.com/product/758497
D-Sub
hold on and find a steepwater. beleive it or not they make a lady specific board. maybe even call wave rave bob? what do you think?
bobdea
steepwater is the **** might be expensive though. great boards though
D-Sub
with as horrible as they are at keeping up their site, and the season already part way into...I guarantee a call to WR would get a significant discount
dingbat
Aisling, How badly in need of a deck are you right now? I may have something you can borrow (if it will work for you) until you find or save up for what you really want.
Aisling
hey guys thanks for the help here... bob i actually have rather tiny feet in particular for a tall girl. if i were wearing a boys shoe it would be a size 5-5 1/2... ladies 7-7 1/2 thats pretty much why i was lookin at chick specific cause of the smallish feets dingbat i have no board! my nidecker called it quits on me so thats why im lookin for somethin cheapo to ride for the rest of the season. notb is apparently havin a sale might pop up to salem to see what they got tomorrow. shrederjen how did you find the luna for riding in suboptimal new england weather? LOL or have you had the opportunity? seems in my price range... and guys tell me about the steepwater.. .why do you love it? thanks again! D-Sub
obviously I've never ridden the steepwater lady model, but their construction is great, the ride is great and the price is highly competitive. just give wave rave a call... D-Sub
I just checked the wave rave site, and, well...the steep lady is a 158 but is listed at $499. obviously more than you're looking to spend. Im sure you can find a perfectly suitable ride for much less.
dingbat
dingbat i have no board! my nidecker called it quits on me so thats why im lookin for somethin cheapo to ride for the rest of the season. notb is apparently havin a sale might pop up to salem to see what they got tomorrow. I have a Salomon Definition 160 just hanging around the livingroom. You are welcome to it for the rest of the season (or untill I do in my FRS165) if you like. It was originaly specd. for a rider 175-190 lbs, but has been softened considerably by 5-7 years of having a 200 lb guy on top of it. let me know, -Mark Oh yeah, it's a pretty bluish-purple color if that makes any difference.:p
eajracing
my wife is in love with the prior brandywine for an all-mountain soft deck she can carve around on. I've got the MFR and after demo'ing all the new burtons this weekend, i still think it's my fave.

dingbat
you'd probably be fine on it after riding alpine boards. No harm in trying if you want to. It's litteraly just sitting around, I won't miss it. Send me an email so we can figure out how to get it in your hands.
BlueB
I've got an older Prior FR (now MFR) 165. It's not too stiff at all... I'd let it go cheap - got too many freeride boards.
Guest shrederjen
hey guys thanks for the help here... tomorrow.shrederjen how did you find the luna for riding in suboptimal new england weather? LOL or have you had the opportunity? seems in my price range... thanks again! I have honestly never riden in New England. I used to ride mine (the k2 Luna)in the California, Sierra Cement...... Since then, I went to Boy Boards for the stiffer ride. My freeride is now the 3800, which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay wide. But, its super fun in pow and I can ride it with plates. bobdea
the incline is good but I'm convinced there's far better freeride type board choices.
