Anyone have insights they might share? Looking for a Burton/Ronin jacket made a few years ago. Hope to find one new that never sold. Does Burton HQ factory store in VT offer "archives", so to speak. Anybody have any suggestions how to go about? To be clear, I am not trying to buy another $100 Factory Prime - so no flame wars please.

Thanks to the both of you. Funny thing about Quiksilver - I've noticed over the past several years that the denim stuff that they make is highly regarded by the elder farmers in my community. Makes me smirk everytime I see a mid sixties/seventies guy wearing jeans or a jacket with Quiksilver's logo. Beyond coincidence as I've seen it too many times to count. No doubt they just know quality when they see it because I'm pretty sure they are not the target market.

Our generation came of age with true, targeted marketing. The P.R. wonks flogged us mercilessly with Hang Ten, Jantzen, and a host of other "in" brands.

Forgive us our need to remain "current" and relevant...

In defense of old farts, speaking for myself, I find myself buying new trendy stuff just because my old stuff wore out and the old company either 1. does not exist anymore or 2. doesn't make a particular item anymore.

Take for instance, Levi's jean jackets. I haven't seen one of those in years-maybe because I don't shop much. So, if I wanted to get another jean jacket-it's probably is going to have some other logo on it. It'll be made in the same factory in Malaysia, to be sure....

This sounds like a perfect "Photo Contest" theme.

Find the cool, but out of place, combination.

Start packing the pns, I would love to see the "Quicksilver Farmer"

bought my first QUIK gear in Newport Beach Cali back in 1985 whilst "summering" in So Cal in College in Long Beach. The place was pretty small for a corp hq. Lotsa volleyball gear, ya know, shorty shorts.Side Out Sports was big back then.

who knew Quik would go HUDGE.

but isn't this thread about Burton factory outlet dealios ?

I was literally just there yesterday. Really good outlets, the burton store is fully loaded with all sorts of goodies. All the boards you didnt think people would need in Massachusetts, plus some museum pieces hanging in the lobby. I saw a lot of the older stuff marked at very good prices. I didnt get any burton stuff though, just a cool watch and sunglasses from fossil.

Just curious as to what jacket you're looking for. I have to Ronin's from about two years ago and love them. I have a difficult time finding jackets that are long enough in the sleeves and the Ronin's are cut like a Tall. I'm 6' 3" and 220 and even with body armor on a large fits well and never pulls back at the cuffs.

Here's my current Vans line-up. The brown ones second from the left also have a light blue sole. I really want to get another pair of Vision Seude Hi tops. The best skate shoe ever made!!!!

Trikerdad - I'm about your size and am looking for the Ronin Espionage jacket. Kicking around the web I've seen it here and there in "moss green" and would prefer black or the gray/silverish color I recall being an option. My armspan is equal to my height and a cut like you attributed to Ronin is ideal.

The gnarliest pair I have, the worn out brown checkered ones with the ollie hole, I actually got a complement on from the girl working at the video store the other day!!!! Here I am, an old fart accompanied by my daughter, and she looks down and says, "I love your shoes!". If I was 20 years younger, and without my daughter, I'd have made a move!

My personal fav for the vision suede ht is gray.

There is a rule about the sailor jerry shoes though. You either must have some tats by sailor jerry himself, have tats that embody the style of sailor jerry, or be a long time drinker of his rum. I could wear his shoes even though my body is a clean slate.

Love the docs, but I'm not in a ska band and unless they've been used and abused they just don't look as cool. I had a pair from london (not sold in the states) and lost the right foot. Had them for like going on 10 years. The tred was smooth from wear, but the rest of the shoe/boot (3/4 length) was still fully in tact though worn and faded. Walked through plenty of piss and vomit with those shoes, ....oh the times we had together!:1luvu:
