chinchillaman
I know there has been some other posts, but i didnt get the info i was looking for. How are these mounted to the board? Also, how do they compare with the hangl ?
yyzcanuck
The VIST system mounts to the board using the original 4x4 insert pattern (sorry, I don't know how many) and an additional 2 inserts between the insert packs and slightly outboard of them. I believe these additional inserts are used to determine how the plate system performs (regular or goofy) and are essential for the package. The center two mounting screws can be used or ommited depending on the riders preferance to flex and plate float. How ever that is a huge benifit only 2 holes drilled in your board vs the 16 for the Hangle. Plus the plate is a little lighter then the hangle. RJ-PS
SG snowboards will be insert ready for Vist plates in the 08-09 production runs. So no drilling your new SG Board. Sidenote: The 07/08 Titanal boards were insert ready for the Hangl-Spirig.
chinchillaman
After removing the vist plate from my gs board this season, i noticed how much the plate rubbed on the metal. Is the solution to this wearing a slide pad as seen with the hangl plate? If so, where can you get these slide pads? Also, what exactly is "plate float"? If some one could explain that to me it would be great.
bobdea
my question cuts to the point and I don't mean to thread jack but which one works better? I see way more people with these as of late is this a better solution than the hangl?
