ken delrossi
The east coast sucks this year. Just curious how CO is doing. I usually have 10-20 days by now. Can't chatter on ice and dirt anymore, have'nt been up to VT 1x. Any input would be great. K
alexeyga
Just a bit to the north from you conditions are ugly, but ridable... Supper cold for the last 2 weeks, only 1 decent snow-fall so far... Had a blast riding and ripping this weekend, hero snow despite being ~60% man-made... I don't freaking get it, Arizona got snow, Texas got snow, but north-eastern Canada and States are sucking it big time... Sorry, don't want to start any flames... Snowman
Snow quality is a tab better at the Basin but Copper is pretty close to race course perfect on most front side main runs. Think Snow
alexeyga
I was actually wondering, how hard is it to get a mechanical engineering-related job in CO? Somewhere near Bomber Industries... :D
John E
I haven't been up in 4 weeks. Denver has been getting some snow & lots of cold weather. However, the mountains haven't been getting much. I talked to people who went to Loveland & Winter Park last weekend (January 27 & 28). Both of them said that they really need some snow. I think the coverage is OK on the intermediate runs but pretty hard-packed. Areas near the Front Range (within 1 1/2 hours of Denver) haven't had any significant snow since January 5th or so. todd
The four Aspen mountains have been pretty dang good. In places the snow is getting firm (by colorado standards), but for sure Snowmass has very good coverage on the mountain. Conditions are perfect for carving. Photos were taken a couple days ago at Snowmass, near the bottom, lots of snow. My son loves trying to stay right in my tracks. Getting close to being able to do so too. big mario
Loveland yesterday was a bit on the firm side, but would probably qualify as hero snow to an icecoaster. I had to adjust a little, but definately fine carving. Forecast for the rest of the week is for really cold temps at the higher elevations with a chance of snow all week. mario
RDY_2_Carve
Conditions here are usually pretty similiar to CO conditions.... No snow in a week. I'm kinda happy about that since it's been a powder day almost every weekend this season (for me). Sunday was hero snow and bluebird skies. Can't ask for better carving conditions! Oh yeah...Angel Fire has more snow YTD than Breckenridge! :p
John E
I guess that I'm spoiled & looking at the conditions through the eyes of a soft-booter. I can't carve well enough to enjoy "hardpack". Until I started attempting to carve, I always evaluated conditions based on how much powder fell in the last several days. I need to go up in non-powder conditions & work on my technique so I can enjoy a wider range of conditions.

boostertwo
I've been at Vail throughout the season and at Keystone the last few days. While it hasn't snowed in a while, the conditions are fast and firm--the groomers are prime for carving! <img src="http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/boostertwo/Thomas-Palka-at-Vail-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Tom Palka, Vail, CO."> Cheers, B-
