pebu
Second to last... Those whoops are perfect for weightless transitions. And that's if you're going slow. Going fast they're perfect for getting 50-60 feet of air without even trying... Man I hope Crystal Mtn doesn't close because of the rain/lack of snow... tpalka
It was outstanding this morning -- and the grooming rivaled Aspen, I was amazed. More at my slackerdom page tom.

alexgforce
That is amazing! Taking into account that Europe is praying for snow. Races are getting canceled all over Europe and we havent seen a snowflake ...yet! Hope will set you free
Justin A.
Today sucked. Stop rubbing it in. 50 defreakinggrees and sunny. The snow was either ice or slush. It blew big floppy donkey dick. Maybe tomorrow will be better :( .

Gecko
yeah last week was looking so good, cold snap and lots of cold nights to blow snow and then BAM heatwave. I guy in my office rode his bike to work today in Cycling shorts and a sweatshirt this morning...it's mid december and in the high 50's? tpalka
...sorry can't send you any snow. We're actually quite light here as well, but the ski area has done a great job of grooming the few 8-10" dumps we had and temperatures have cooperated. Monarch base is around 10,200' I think, which helps. tom.
pebu
I see a dark spot! So much for 10200' of base... This weekend is iffy for us too. Look at it this way, crappy weather keeps away the fairweather fans of skiing/boarding... Open is open as far as I'm concerned.
Justin A.
Attitash is closed. Today was supposed to be free day up there...and they had no snow. Seriously, like Gecko said, last week looked sooooo promising, and this week was a huge letdown. I was up on top of the Kanc last night watching the Aroura...on December 14th...in a sweater. And I wasn't cold. I think it's because we abandoned Ullr this week to go skiing. He is the god of snow afterall. If he's not happy, then it won't snow . Or something like that anyway. I got some Northern Lights porn if you want to see that.

pebu
Yeah, what the hell, why not.. They're supposed to be going on again tonight I heard.
Justin A.
They're gonna be glowing even better tonight than last night, but it's TOTALLY overcast. Oh, and I came back down to southern NH earlier today so I won't be able to see **** through the city glow that is everywhere. Oh how I hate it here . I'll scan some of the pictures from last night later and throw them up here. We're getting them retouched as we speak (NEVER trust your photos to RiteAid), so when we get them back tomorrow they should look MUCH better. Justin A.
One of my money shots from last night. It looks awful, I know. Our scanner face is all scratched and this is raw, unprocessed from RiteAid . When we get the processed ones back from the lab tomorrow I'll put some of those up. It's also awful because it was my first ever attempt at shooting the Aurora, and I was doing it with 800 speed film (I was planning on shooting some riding during the day, but the snow sucked) on a 1970s vintage Yashika 35mm. Ahhh, the glory of highspeed film in low light. Next time I think I'll break out that can of KodaChrome 64 I've been saving .

BobD
I don't know if this made it onto the main forum yet. It's been in the MN annex. Trent took this one of Bob L a week or so ago. Needs no further comment... BobD

AaronG
That pic is the best ever, I love how you can see the corduroy coming off the edge of the board. I have never seen that before in a photo. He just needs to get that left arm in front of him or else he will be washing out the tail very soon. No trailing arms!!
