Had to wait out front for a bit. People in Manchester thought I was ususual. In SF I could go out dressed like that any time of day or night and no one would think twice about it. They have a thing called "Straight to Diva" every year here as an AIDS fundraiser, where they take three straight guys, make them over, and they put on a show at one of the gay clubs here. A friend of his won it last year. We went to the video party, and at some stage during the night my other half and my roommate's fiancee (both drunk) were overheard saying "yeah, they'd do that". The organiser wasn't drunk and had a long memory ... To their credit, they both stood up to be counted, and everyone had a great night. My other half won. Considering I tore the crotch seam of my only good black pants that go with my good leather boots, I'll be wearing a skirt... I'll also wear my new Cirque du Soleil mask that I got at yesterday's Delirium show (Which was Amazing...best show I've ever seen). I like to think I look much better in "drag" than my friends. I don't do stupid things like showing copious amount of exposed skin (I have an image of my (unattractive) male friend in a dress than swooped down to the small of his back burned into my mind as a "what not to do" sign), and I don't try too hard. PS- I've only gone to rocky horror shows twice at my school (friends with half the kids that put it on) ... cast parties, as always, are amazing.
