  1. where is the best snow early season. Afton?
  2. The hill Batman rides requires leashes on all alpine equipment. I think it is an insurance thing :)
  3. Most GPS units update your position once a second. Some GPS dataloggers are available that update 5 times a second. These would be better on the slopes. Only the most recent units use the so called SIRF chipset that looks for all the satelites at once. this low power comsupmtion chipset is super sensitive so you can look through the trees (whitefish). All in all i fool around with my eTrex Legend unit (Garmin) on the snow but the data is not all that interesting. Regards, Bob
  4. I am looking for OS2 bindings, I would prefer step ins, I would prefer long plates. I would prefer 4x4. I would prefer D3. Will consider all. What is out there. Regards to all, Bob

  8. Jack: I have a pair of Burton Fire marked 25.6-26 on the lower shell. They have Intuition Liners and are intec compatible. You can have em for the rest of the season. No charge! Pease dont mould the liners. If you like them I'll sell them to you for 125.00 at the end of the season. If they dont fit well just give them back. Send me an email and we can hook up. Bob
  9. I bought some cheapie shaped skis (Rossie Axis) two years ago as a day extender and to ski with my wife. I am an old guy 200lbs 58yo. If you havent been on skis in 15 years you will find that all the newish gear terrific. All of it is very accesssible. I'd spend your dough on comfy boots. All the new skis are great, the bottom of the line is fine. IMO. Bob
  10. I had a similar problem with plastic Intecs on SB boots. I needed to get M6 (I think) filister head screws that were 34mm long (I think). That was long enough to pass through the intec into the boot heel and emerge into the boot shell were i was able to put a nylock locking nut on the inside of the boot to back up the insert. You really want those things on there. If you just have a few threads engaged you risk having the heel come off. The screws were nice and long and still do not interfer with the shim below the boot liner. You will need find a hardware store with metric nuts and bolts but the size is pretty common. Take an old screw in with you. I got stainless steel and it is holding up well. the tread locking screws I got with my plastic intec heels were not long enough and they strpped out on me a bit. Be careful to get the heels on there good.

  21. 56 A Lawyer. Started in 88 on a Burton with a belly. Introduced the kids around 90. Bought a PJ "Roses" in 92 and discovered the joy of carving in comfort. On many days I have been older than all the other borders put togeather. Still stoked, still sore.
