  1. Pat that`s an amazing little invention. Do you use one? Any idea what the "Special Fabric" might be? Anyone else tried it? I really like the theory behind it all. I`m pretty sure that my wife will want to buy me one, after my mess making in the house last night.
  2. I`m 80kg`s and 188cm tall, 29 mondo boots. First year in hardboots. I`m riding an LSD from 01-02 (Ithink). This one. http://www.norskdesign.no/gfx/Large/radair.jpg It was an exception buy for me, I`m so happy riding it with hardboots. I have just got myself a 02-03 Tanker 200, the white 3D topsheet model, really cheap and as of yet unridden. I could have got the following years model but it was near twice the price. The weight difference between these two is alot, if your a weight weeny then you probably won`t like the White one. My only concern with the light weight models is breakage, I don`t know how relevant/true it is but for me, stronger is better. I tend to do some really animated high speed crashes:smashfrea
  3. I`m hearing ya Mario. I in the same boat with a nice shiny white 200 waiting to unleash tomorrow.
  4. I`ve got one pair with an old pair of cut up calf leather shoes, glued to the palm and fingers. Another pair with milk bottle (cheap Ptex) plastic glued onto them, both work great but the plastic ones slide a bit too much when you crash.:o
  5. Just had to tell everyone.......I am now a member of the Tanker 200 club:biggthump First test run will be in two days. And, it`s snowing hard at the moment:cool:
  6. Use google translations on this thread if you can`t read french. some really great stuff on mods for the stratos pro. http://www.extremecarving.com/forum...der=asc&start=0
  7. Thanks Bob. My wifes going to freak when I tell her that I have to do it inside. Oh well:rolleyes:.
  8. Did anything surface on the video idea. My chances of attending a clinic are nill. I`d love to see a good instructional though.
  9. Just a quick one. I tried to hot wax and prep my board last night but it was so cold that I couldn`t scrape the wax off the board. Is there an optimal air temp to do the scraping and finishing?
  10. Very interesting concept. I like the ides of that "concept" mixed with the Catek freerides. Could be really good!:)
  11. DON- You da man! Very nice! Di-hydrogen-monoxide- Is an even better anti-inflamatory when mixed with Zingiberaceae and heated. Read.......Ginger tea is Good!
  12. I`ve had a look at those sites and if I was still in Australia I`d be onto it already, but, unfortunately I know live in downtown Tokyo where apartments are the same size as my bedroom in OZ! "DOWNHILL BUGGY":D I used to work with a guy who was paralized hips down in an rock climbing accident. He built a four wheel, independent suspension, wheelchair with 20"(?) inch wheels and used to do the madest downhills. Had the worst crashes imaginable sometimes but always had the adage of "She`ll be right mate, at least I can`t hurt my legs" ,Crazy man I tell you. Now, kite buggy, no suspension and rubber balls for tires and steering with the feet=Downhill:eek: , I don`t think my crazy friend would even try that one.
  13. WOW. Why would anyone chose not to wear a helmet when you could have one like that.
  14. -------------------------- Back on the topic.........Yeah I want a spring system too but I`m just waiting to hear what a few people around here think of it first. I really hope Bomber puts one together for the Head boots.
  15. Just thinking about that one.........there are 3 common things that occur with those symptoms. 1. Inflamation of the Bursa, it can sometimes squeeze out and get impingned by the bones=Intense sharp pain. 2. From hyper-flexion injuries or many "micro traumas" the end of the bone can develop a bony spur on the end of it which causes pain at a certain point, usually nearing the point of the maximal flexion. 3.Failing to use the joint properly, eg. hip bone/ knee injury, leads the ankle to be use in a non-optimal way= Tightened/stretched ligaments=instability= pain sometimes-pain free the next moment. Go see an accupuncturist.
  16. A few weeks ago I used my Hardboots for three days straight, 8 hrs a day, ever since I`ve had pins and needles on the arch and up to the top of my foot, on both feet. Not really painfull but always feels wrong when I`m walking.......... WEIRD:confused:
  17. I couldn`t even get my foot into the Raichels close to my mondo size, even the next size up was to narrow and to long, but the Heads were just right......after a few days of wearing them around the house.:)
  18. Illegal:eek:. Never tried kiting in Indonesia but I`ve spent way to much time surfing thoughout the area. The Monsoon fronts/storms in that part of the world are not really windy. Most of the housing wouldn`t stand up to what we consider strong wind. The amazing thing though is the rain, it can feel like ten garden hoses spraying on you all at once. I doubt a kite would even fly in those kind of conditions.
  19. If your looking to get into Kites then definately buy on the secondhand market. A 2 year old inflatable kite is cheap and you won`t be all bummed out if you destroy it while learning. Kites from the last 2-3 years are just like snowboards, not much has changed, the performance increases are not really noticable except for the new "Bow" style kites. My personal favourites are the Flysurfer Speed kites. A water relaunchable foil kite that you can use on Water/Land/Snow. BUT, they`re expensive.
  20. I`ve seen some footage of crazy Euro dudes doing the kite/ice skate thing. They had skates that looked like they had huge meat cleavers stuck on the bottom of `em. Your right, WAY fast, I`d think skates on ice would probably be in the running to nail the top speed record.
  21. WOW. that guys the king of handle passes. Never seen em done that fast before.:D
  22. Bloody trouble makers!(heavy tone of sarcasim) Scaring the birds and fish, jeez, and I suppose the giant rock wall in the background is in fact a "natural" feature of the surrounding area? ----------- Looks like he`s wearing a dry suit though, that would be plenty warm enough.
  23. Yeah Yeah, that`s the style I`m thinking about. They seemed to work well for roller blades I wonder why they never hit the snowboard market with something similar?
  24. I have been thinking about ways to make a stiff soft boot set-up and it just dawned on me last night that "Roller Blades" used to be all hard boot style but now are mostly a soft boot with a funky plastic supporting binding. Have snowboard bindings ever experimented with this style of binding set-up? Is there any reason that it wouldn`t work?
  25. All good, Thanks team. Every lil bit of info I can get from you guys is good for improving my understanding.
