  1. I read that you like small till medium freecarve turns. I then should stay away from standard produced Worldcup boards in the length of 185. These boards don't like to be cranked down in normal ridingstyle. You must fiddle around with your weight on your board to change the arc and benefit form the versatality of the different radius those boards have. I don't like that because when I carve I don't want these changes because you are fighting against the bigger arc the board wants to ride with you. I tend to the shorter freecarve boards from Virus or the one which I also love in my quiver is my Jasey Jay 163 slalom with plate when it's very crowded. Enough rebound, great edgehold, easy to ride when you are fit, small to medium turns are fun. Or buy yourself a longer freecarve board with a radius of about 12 to 14 m.
  2. Had them, sold them. The tongue became as hard as steel when the cold gets in. Solved that with a softer Raichle tongue. Would bought them again if: the boots were made of other plastics and with a stepin possibility. The fit of these boots: I had to lower the base for my high arch, then the fit was good. I know have UPZ RC10 VIRUS boots since two weeks. Love the short solelength, the versatile springmechnism in the back of this boot, the micro adjustable buckles and the powerstrap.
  3. Intec TD3 SI on my narrow Virus boards, I don't want any sideflex in my bindings in this setup, only direct transfere times. Standard bails on my wide worldcup raceboards: F2 Race CNC for more lateral movement.
  4. He is just very busy milling all those new parts this summer..... Must be overworked by now.

  6. BUMP it again, come on FIN give us some info! You can't keep all the beautiful stuff for yourself!
  7. Eventually it's gonna happen, thanks Fin.
  8. Kelvin wish you good luck with the surgery and even more luck with the recovery. Had a surgery from a full rupture achilles 24 years ago. Was able to get back on the fields within 7 months time. Started with a lot of pain , I remember, while running. The surgeon told me that I could walk right through the pain, so I did. Was able to play fully in the fieldsport after 7 1/2 months time with a thick achilles. The few things I noticed: I was not as fast (running) as before the injury.
  9. Kelvin all the best and wish you a fast recovery. Did you already ask an opinion from a doctor? Perhaps a surgery could be needed. If not take your time, and be very careful with the recovery. You could be lucky if you are back within 5 months time. If you only feel a slap of skin and you are in a lot of pain and can not stand on that leg: surgery will be possibly needed. Hope it's not. But in both cases the recovery needs a lot of time and care.
  10. Pitty to hear that Alan. Painfull. Wish you have a fast recovery. You will be recovered within 7 months time if it's a total rupture (if there won't be any complications). My japanese doctor said when I fully torned my right one 24 years ago, that I won't torn the repaired one, but if I will torn one, it will be the other he said  I have had no complaints since then, yes you won't be able to stretch your leg as far as the healthy one due to a shorter made tendon. And you will have more starting problems in the winter when it's cold and your leg will feel somewhat stiff in the morning. But that's about it. Just train hard when you can walk again without the plaster.
  11. **** happens, hope you will recover soon enough Alan from that achilles tendon rupture. (Did cost me 7 months to recover for 90%, 24 years ago: full rupture, painfull, I remember).
  12. I will use my Track 700's (the last red ones, stiff at 88 kgs = 194 lbs) for my JJ raceboards. For my narrow Virus Boards I need some more flex, I'll buy a new pair of UPZ RC10's with Frank this upcoming season in september 2013 when they are in stock :)
  13. Black top cuf, white shoe, buckles changed a bit, other innerboot. http://carver.si/snowboard_cevlji/deeluxe_alpin_cevlji/deeluxe_track_700_t
  14. Swoard is wider, so lower stance angles. Don't know what you like about the stance angles. The Swoard has one sidecut, the Kessler is between 8 and 12 m. You need a sidecut that is at least 12 m to be comfortable with EC-ing. The kessler is a typical SL board so completely different lenghtwise (stiffer). Hard to compare, but comes near 168 H. (I have ridden both)
  15. Between 14 and 15 cm wide Virus boards and one Plasma board (16 cm widish I think) from Ben (aqua - greenish like jacket) with nice woodtop. I have learned a non-rotational technique from Ben this year, way better for my/your knees :)
  16. That's called Zylon, Virus Black Death 'Slayer', one of my favorite boards of this season.
  17. I misunderstand you, like this :
  18. I agree with you here about some brands. I had to be more secure in writing down ;). In general it is easier to jump around with a small springy width short radius board (without a plate), than with a fully plated GS board where you have more/about 6 kgs under your feet.
  19. If the wish is POP, out of these boards, then I would make them otherwise. The fun of small width boards is just jumping around with them, popping from one turn into the other. I don't like small width boards which hardly don't have any rebound, are 100% in control and very easy to ride, there must be a certain tension, funfactor in these boards . Just my 2 cents If you wish control , buy yourself a damp raceboard like Oxess GS, Kessler GS, SG GS and so on .
  20. You nailed it Fin here. You don't need any lateral movement out of your binding set up with high stance angles/narrow boards. Otherwise if you have lateral movement, the control and feeling will be much less. So I think TD3 SI Sidewinders will also be not for me on my small Virus boards I ride. That lower binding assembly is interesting. So my EUROS goes to Bomber on this to get as low as possible.
  21. Golspie looks interesting. Playing some golf :D
  22. Look out. I ride a fullsuspension MTB in the Netherlands which country is supposed to be flat, come on and ride a weekend with me at the Posbank and you will find your tongue on your frontwheel ;)
  23. Schneewurm knows what he is talking about . He better takes a stroopwafel ;)
  24. These are looking good to me, now just the taste.....of it......
