  1. My shoulder's better, but it's probably only at 70% or so. I'm going to go ahead and give it a rest this weekend in hopes of a 100% recovery in time for the Sierra Session in a couple weeks. You guys have fun tomorrow, and make a turn or two for me!
  2. It looks like I can make it the first two days as mentioned above, but there hasn't been much dialogue on this thread for a while. Is this still on?
  3. It’s beginning to look like it may be questionable if I’ll make it after all this weekend. I’ve been having some shoulder pain lately – nothing that happened on the hill, but it was exacerbated this last weekend by pushing myself back up into a standing position every time I got back up from sitting down half-way through a run. (I think I’ll blame Andrea and Julian for making us all wait so they could get set up to take pics. :) Some great photos, by the way. Thank you!) But I finally went to see my doctor about it, and he told me to take 600mg of Ibupropin (Sp?) 2x/day and to take a couple weeks off from anything that might be causing stress on my shoulder. And that leads me to this: I’m thinking about heading up for the Sierra Expression Session in a couple weeks. (The thread is here in the SoCal section.) If I go, I’ll only be able to do the first two days – Mammoth and June. Has anyone else given it any serious consideration?
  4. Ditto on what Erwin said. That will help get your center of gravity lower. Another non-technical piece of advice I was given in this area is to try to grab your outside edge with your trailing hand. You don’t actually have to grab the edge, but in making the effort it forces you to get into a lower attitude, thus forcing you to bend your knees more – if that makes sense.
  5. I shouldn't be commenting right now since I'm at school, but the gates don't open for another twenty minutes or so... Some of the best advice ever given to me was not very technical, but it was helpful. 1) Imagine there's a 4' foot ceiling above you while you're turning. Stay low enough to avoid knockin' your noggin on it. 2) Concentrate on putting your effort into the front third of the board. 3) Look in the direction you want to turn instead of downhill. (I still have difficulty with this one on my heelside.) 4) Try to keep your shoulders parallel with the hill.
  6. I think your asking about Chris. We met him Sunday. He's a friend of Albert. Nice guy!
  7. Andrea and Julian, Will you be posting any of the stills or video you guys took on Sunday?
  8. I'm just now really studying this thread. This sounds like great time! I may be able to make Mammoth and June on the 20th and 21st, but I'd have to come home on the 22nd eliminating Rose for me. I'll chcek my calendar at work tomorrow and confirm one way or the other for the 20th and 21st.
  9. I'll be there Sunday looking for that nice little window between too hard and too soft.
  10. Just like everyone else has already said - Thanks, Julian. The video was lots of fun to watch! Be careful or you might become the designated videographer. That could cut into your carving time. :)
  11. All is cool! Don't even worry about the comments - all was said in fun. I'll be there tomorrow. But I just checked the snow report and it looks like surface conditions might be a bit hard in the morning. Was anyone up there today? How was it?
  12. Dennis: I dropped by the patrol office at the top of chair 2 around 10:00 just to say hi and to thank you again for the BBQ a couple weeks ago. They said you were at the base. Sorry to have missed you. Maybe next time.
  13. Got back from Summit about 1:45 after leaving Taco Bell at 11:30. Very slow drive down the hill with heavy fog causing traffic to back up most of the way. For anyone else who was there - sorry I missed you. I did happen to see one other hard-booter while I was taking a break at the Summit Haus. Whoever it was, was cruising down from chair 2 toward either Summit Run or Miracle Mile with red or orange boots. Could that have been you Aaron? I rode from one side of the mountain to the other finally ending things up with a couple trips down the family park just for grins since I haven't been over there for years. With the flat light and the soft snow being pushed around quite a lot and quite early I called it a day pretty early on.
  14. I love your reply to the woman in th bar!!!
  15. I bought some custom liners from Footloose this year and have never been happier. But they specialize in boots and boot accessories only. You might try Wave Rave in Mammoth. I don't know if they do repairs, but if anyone does - they would be my first guess.
  16. My pass is blacked out for the holiday weekend. So - depending on weather and swell - my plans are to be in Baja. (Erwin: Are you reading this?) But things are looking like they might be good for Summit this Sunday. If this storm blows out by late Saturday as predicted right now, I plan on being there on the 8th. I know some others are as well if you can make it.
  17. Dennis, waht's your inside info on weather Sunday? The paper makes it look like things just might be clearing up by then.
  18. I'm going to be posting my old UltraPrime for sale in Bomber's classified, but I have no idea what shipping costs are? Does anyone know how much UPS or USPS might charge. (Yeah, I could haul it down to a local office and ask but I'm hoping someone here could save me the trouble. :))
  19. It was good to meet you guys. Hopefully we'll be able to hook up again. Gunsmoke was outstanding this weekend, wasn't it?!
  20. Well, this came in a little late. But Lorrie had her print shop at work put together this banner. Hopefully, this will remain an annual gathering. If so, this banner should get good use. By the way, June Mtn. was outstanding yesterday!
  21. I just checked again to be sure, and terrain is shown on the online map at least. Maybe it was planned before the season and the map originally indicated it, but it was decided against later and the map was never changed?
  22. I don't think I've met you guys, but I'll be at June Saturday as well. I checked their trail map, and it looks like they've put terrain on Gunsmoke again, though. Too bad. That's always been my favorite June run. Nonetheless, it's tough to beat that mountain as a whole. I'll be on an f2 Silberpfeil. Hopefully I'll see you there.
