  1. Plans have changed. It looks like I'll be heading to June Mtn. instead.
  2. With absolutely no surf being forecast for Saturday that leaves me with nothing to do (unless raking leaves and picking up after the dog is important). So I think I'll be heading up to June Mtn. for the weekend. Hopefully I'll catch you folks at Bear or Summit next week.
  3. Sounds like great stuff for the new (used) Silberpfeil. I'll be there Sunday for sure!
  4. Once again - thank you, Dennis. You're not only a gentleman and a great host, but you also flip a mean burger!
  5. I just checked the forecast. It looks like things might be cooling down overnight to more seasonable temps. Maybe they'll be able to blow overnight???? What do you think, Dennis?
  6. I haven’t heard back from Jimmy’s wife or son. So I don’t know if they’ll be showing or not. Nonetheless, please keep him in mind this weekend. I was thinking as I was driving home from work this afternoon that his passing is such a tragedy. But it was comforting to know that it was not in vain: Look at how many new friendships have been forged out of his memory! On another note: My new (actually, used from bomber’s classifieds) f2 Silberpfeil just arrived today. I’ll probably start with the Speedster but, if things soften up a bit as the morning wears on, I’m hoping to be able to give the Silberpfeil a try. A new toy is always a stoke. See everyone Sunday.
  7. OK. I just got off the phone with Jim Pryor’s son, Shane. I told him about the gathering and that it’s – at least right now – being unofficially dubbed the “Jim Pryor Memorial Carving Session”. Should we stick with that title? (Sounds good to me.) I invited him and his mom, Debbie, to be there and offered to pick them up on my way if they wanted. Shane sounded enthusiastic. It’s tough to say if either Shane or Debbie will show. I sure hope so, but the wound is still fairly fresh. Nonetheless, speaking just for myself, I think this should be an annual gathering to continue existing friendships, renew acquaintances and develop new friends within the carving community in honor of Jimmy.
  8. Dennis, It's very cool of you to arrange this! Thank you. I vote for the 11:00 feed but will go with whatever works for everyone else. Thanks again.
  9. I certainly plan on being there the 25th. Can't make it this weekend though. My pass is blacked-out for the holiday periods, but I'll be in Baja anyway because there's a pretty decent swell being forecast for this weekend. However, it looks like the weather will begin cooling down early next week which - from a snow standpoint - is good news for the following weekend. See you then.
  10. Summit has been able to blow snow for the last 12 hours according to their website. That should help w/surface conditions. Erwin: How was the surf for you today? I hit Churches for about an hour and it was minuscule. My buddy and I ended up leaving then driving south to O'side in our wetsuits hoping for something better and it was worth the try. Nothing to write home about, but it was about waist to shoulder-high. That was probably double what it was at Churches. See you at Summit tomorrow.
  11. I just got back from Summit. The snow was hard pack early on, which I pretty much expected with the weather warming up the way it has begun to do. But it was just grippy enough still to hold an edge. Things got better as the sun was able to its thing. However, you could tell that they were having a little bit of trouble rolling it over night. There were a lot of sections that had what Jimmy used to call "cookies" - the chunky residue left over from the snow cats' tracks. With things continuing to warm up for the next few days, I'm not overly optimistic about snow conditions come Sunday, but I'll be up there anyway - just in case. :)
  12. I may be there Sunday. At the moment, I'm also planning on being at Summit tomorrow (Wednesday) too.
  13. It looks like Lorrie and I went over to chair 10 too early and missed being in the action shots. We've got to plan another gathering soon so I can join the picturefest and restore my ego. :)
  14. Nope. Still didn't work. If you guys want the photo, I guess you'll still have to let me know via email: olas_6@msn.com Sorry...
  15. I've tried twice now to attach the photo. I even checked FAQs and followed the directions I found there. It still won't attach. If anyone wants to send email addresses I will send it that way. You can reach me at: olas_6@msn.com If a moderator notices this message, maybe he or she could help me out.
  16. So, Erwin, you surf too? On the 4th we'll have to compare board quivers - of the liquid H2O type (as opposed to just the frozen H2O type). I'm heading down to Baja for a few days and then back in time for the Summit gathering on the 4th. We should talk about getting together for a surf sometime as well.
  17. Yes. But now I'm really feeling bulletin board-impaired! How'd you do that?
  18. Sorry to clutter up this forum with a non-carving question, but can anyone help me figure out how to get rid of my signature picture? I mistakenly put it in as a signature picture instead of an avatar, and now I can't get rid of it. I have tried to edit my signature by clicking "remove current image" and then also hitting the "save signature" button, but it's all to no avail. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
  19. I don't think any pictures were taken, but - yeah - that would have been a good idea. My wife will probably come along on the 4th. I'll bring a camera along and maybe she could get a group shot of everyone who shows up and I could post it on bomber or send it to whoever wants a copy.
  20. I may be there Chrsitmas day - if the weather doesn't turn too ugly.
