  1. I will probably be up to June after the 26th. I'd like to coordinate it with anyone one else who may be going since I haven't seen any of you folks since last season.
  2. I haven't been out of town, so don't let the title line fool you. It's just good to finally have the season back and to see posts from all of you again! Who will be where in Big Bear this weekend? My boards (and Lorrie's skis) are finally tuned, waxed and ready to go.
  3. I appreciate the offer. I may take you up on it. One other question: Does your board have the metal dampening in the tail?
  4. It was good to see everyone and ride with you again today. Aaron and/or Julian: I got on Coda's web site to check out the boards. Which model was Aaron's Coda? I don't think it was the V-2-10, but I've listed the 3 models shown on the web site below. V-0 170 cm V-0-xL 185 cm V-2-10 170 cm
  5. I might finally hook up with you. At this point, I'm planning on being there.
  6. Nope. This is about the first year in the last ten or so that I don't. I knew I wouldn't be getting up to the mountains as much this season, so I decided against it. I'll be back on board next year though.
  7. Andrea, I don't know for sure right now. It dependes on snow vs. surf conditions, but snow is certainly never out of the question. :)
  8. Hey, Julian. I know I've been a bit scarce this season. Money's been a bit tight (my youngest is getting married in the spring) as has been time (I've been taking sailing lessons). But we'll be at Summit tomorrow. Lorrie says to tell you "Hi".
  9. It looks like Mammoth/June will be the place(s) to be for a lot of folks this weekend, but is anyone heading up to Summit tomorrow?
  10. Let us not forget about Jimmy Pryor. We've got to get together and arrange another Jim Pryor Memorial Carving Session (aka JPMCS) for him as well.
  11. It's time I get back in the game. I should be able to make it.
  12. Enough already! The answer to finding the right board is simple: anything in f2’s carving inventory. Enough said. :)
  13. True. But by the time I get back from Cabo, the shoreline along Baja Norte will be calling...
  14. That would be John Fujii. A wonderful guy and an awesome carver! He and Jim and I have had a lot of great days together on the snow, both here and in the Sierras over the years. I've been trying to get hold of him all season to no avail. I'm glad to hear he was doing what he loves to do anyway.
  15. I just want to say it’s been great meeting so many new, and hooking up with some old, HB friends this season at Summit! (This has been the silver lining to the grey cloud of Jimmy’s passing.) Lorrie and I will be heading up to the Sierra Session next weekend, and that will be followed by a trip to Cabo. I’ve had a lot of fun days and good turns with you guys and, if we don’t get to ride together again this season, let’s be sure to do it again next year. Thanks again to everyone!
  16. I heard they're going to try to stay open until mid-April.
  17. It's looking like I'll be there - sans wife. The shoulder’s better, and I’ve got the new BTS springs installed. So I’ve got to try them out before the Sierra Session next weekend. Has anyone else given any thought to going to that?
  18. I'm right-handed and: surf - regular board - regular play pool - left-handed shotgun - left-handed I wonder: Has anyone considered which eye is dominant? Mine is the left eye.
  19. Jack, You answered yellow/yellow, but a lot of the feedback seems to lean toward the blue springs. I'm just wondering what your rational is for the yellow. My weight? Or? Thanks...
  20. I didn't realize the rear spring had double the tension of the front. This would almost automatically cover the fact that I like more stiffness on my heelside. I'm going to dig around on the web site to try to find that chart.
  21. I'm thinking about buying BTS springs for my Raichle AF 600s and am interested in input from those who may have already purchased them. I'm thinking about going soft (yellow) on the toeside and medium (blue) on the heelside. A few facts about myself and skill level may help with any feedback: (1) I weigh 165 lbs; (2) I ride an f2 Silberpfeil 80% of the time with my f2 Speedster coming out of the quiver on those true hardpack days; (3) While I'd like to say I'm in the advanced category of carvers :), intermediate would be more truthful; (4) I've got my Raichles set with forward flex and no heelside flex. Any and all input would be appreciated. Good turns!
