  1. Not sure who, if anyone, was planning on coming out tonight, but I just got word that Ski Ward is closing due to high winds tonight. Didn't want anyone to waist a trip. Fleck
  2. Wave - yes, they have been blowing snow. They were actually blowing as we were training the other night, making the ruts pretty nasty in certain sections. We had a good crew the other night, so it looks like it should be a good turnout on saturday. Most likely GS first then SL. I know those "special people" with more than one board like to know in advance ;) Details for saturday at www.ridemass.org
  3. Looks like we're going to have a pretty good crowd. Don't worry Willy, even if I'm running the camera, there's a guy who works at Ward who used to race FIS for the Greek National team. I'm sure he'd be willing to take your money! See y'all tomorrow night!
  4. Should be a good time, and a great chance to run some actual snowboard gates. I'll try to bring my video camera so we can set it up at the bottom and get some of the action on tape.
  5. Ok, so we just rescheduled a double slalom event at Ward Hill on Sunday Afternoon. We went up tonight to check things out, and I have never met anyone that was so excited about having an alpine event. We need some people to come out and help show these guys what this is all about, and if we have a good showing, we will probaby have somewhere we can get a group together and runs some gates, and possibly more local snowboard races. Doesn't matter if you've never raced before, just come out and ride with some new people. Check out www.ridemass.org for all the details, or just shoot me a PM. Steve
  6. I meant psycho in the best possible way Willywhit, give me shout if you guys head up to Wachusett at night. I'm not working there anymore, but I would definitely be down for meeting up with you guys to ride. Wave - anybody brave (or stupid?) enough to wear spandex when it's that cold deserves a gold medal.
  7. The snow wasn't bad (surprisingly). We had to set just one course due to base depths on one side of the trail, but it was a fun day. My first time in gates for the season, so I was happy to just be out there. Let me know if you guys are ever heading up, maybe I can sneak up there to get in some runs with you. I think I'm headed up to loon on saturday for some races if the weather cooperates.
  8. After much rescheduling, we're finally having our first USASA alpine event of the season down here. It would be great to see some of you guys out there, even if it's just to take some runs afterwards. Details here: www.ridemass.org
  9. glad to see Anton is off the crutches.
  10. Try these guys. Ask for Dave Jackson, he runs the snowboard end of things. I know last year they were carrying Rad-Air, and had some of the shorter boards as well as the tankers. Not sure what their hours are during the summer. Strand's Ski Shop 508-852-4333
  11. Between this, and all the talk within USASA that BX is a "freestyle" event. What's wrong with people these days?
  12. Dave, we usually have some usasa BX races at Bousquet which is real close to jiminy. You'll have to put up with some hardbooters though... do I dare ask what the reasoning is behind your soft boots only claim?
  13. the F1 would be a good match for you. I'm in Worcester, so get in touch with me early next season and I will set you up with a demo. Steve Fleck sfleck05@hotmail.com

    Race Decks for SBX ??

Maybe they'll let us in if we wear bandanas like Shawn White.... Free the square tails!

Alan, have you gotten any of your kids on the Madd BX boards yet? I ride mine with plates, but I know plenty of people riding them with softies as well. I think we will have a 168, 163 and 157 for next season. email me if you have any more specific questions. sfleck05@hotmail.com Steve
  17. Just wanted to thank Randy again for taking a bunch of us Ice coasters out on a beautiful powder day. Easily the best day of riding of my life. :D the look on everyones face says it all! and if that doesn't do it, check out this video clip. Snow can make people do strange things sometimes! http://www.ridemass.org/snow.mpg
  18. db, if you are in the North East we can probably set you up with a demo. shoot me an email. sfleck05@hotmail.com Steve
  19. You guys are right about the flex on the carbon wing version. Next season there will be an option with a Texalium topsheet. The Texalium is a fiberglass weave that is infused with aluminium particles. It is a little softer than the carbon fiber model, but has a very nice even flex, and is incredibly damp. There will be more info about it up on the Madd site soon. Everyone who rode it at the ECES loved it, and it was also very popular with a bunch of collegiate BX racers. One even gave up riding his Burton T6 to ride the Madd on race day. There will also be a shorter version in a 163.
  20. Michael, email me and we might be able to work something out to get you on a Madd BX. If not this year, definitely next. I've ridden them with both plates and softies. I prefer the plates, but it was a blast to rip around on with the catek freerides as well. great on ice, great in the crud, just an all around fun board. And the new Texalium boards are even more fun! Steve
  21. you're right Jack. The newest Madds have a thicker rubber in the nose, and are stiffer through the nose as well, making them ride more like the old ones.
  22. Madd 170, SOLD Volkl RT 158, not sure which year, the one with the yellow nose and black tail. Still has plenty of camber, but could use a tune. Email me for pics or to make a reasonable offer. sfleck05@hotmail.com thanks, Steve
  23. Bob, what time will you be up there weds? I will most likely be working later in the evening but if you want to stop by the ski school we can take a look at your setup. I would have to say mount up the sims instead of the asym though. Steve

    Bindings

I've been riding F2 Race Titanium standards for the last three years, and I really like them, but really I would consider anything other than td1's that is in good shape. email me if you think you have something that might work. thanks, Steve

    Bindings

Anybody in the Northeast have some decent bindings they want to unload? Broke a bail this weekend and I am looking to replace ASAP. Thanks, Steve
