  1. Steve,

My point was not that it is acceptable behaviour, but more in the vein of the "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" cliches. I am not a bode apologist, I just think we are a little quick to condemn, thats all.

  2. How many people in the world have played to hard at a wedding/birthday/victory/whatever party and still have gone to work the next day with a buzz on? How well would we look/react if any of our indiscretions were brought out into the light in front of the world? Finally, why must we tear down someone whom has achievd greatness with little more than determination and natural talent?

  3. I lost count of how many I have replaced for mountain biking, so to me it makes sense to wear one when riding. At beaver creek today I watched an exceptional rider ,whom never biffs, wash out his toeside, then catch his heel edge, and get sent over backwards, slamming his head. I was 75 yards away and heard the impact, It scared the S**T out of me. He was okay, due in a large part to his brain bucket. My feeling is that it is not a question of if, but when.

  4. I planned to ride last year but I took a season off of the bike. I will be the guy with the manly physique and the haiwain shirt bringingup the rear.

Dan, my 2000 2nd place 24 hrs of moab clydesdale team had partial sponsership from fullsail brewing(beer and jersey's) :biggthump

  5. Crowds and comfort play a more important role than anything else. I ride either my 179 fcII or my 178 volkl. I started the season on the volkl. Pcogan, all of 5'2" and 130lbs rode his 188 burner in all types of terrain today, from wide open groomers, to narrow liftline runs with a few bumps thrown in. In my honest, not overly well versed opinion, ride what you feel comfortable on :D

  6. I did lots of squats and other stuff, but my legs still got smoked the first day out. Today was day 11, and I managed 4.5 nonstop, no liftlines, and very little sittin' on the trail time. It seems that myself and all the other people I carve with are pretty well done after 4 hours, but this may have something to do with riding at 11,000 feet. I never think about the altitude, I just always thought I was a bit of a wimp :D

  7. season passes at vail are by no means cheap

the summit county ones are stupid cheap though. $350ish for Breck, Keystone, A-Basin?

    wow

359 for the aforementioned, plus you get 10 days at Vail/Beaver Creek :biggthump ,242 for my loveland pass, and my 4 day aspen classic pass for 139. we like how tourism subsidises our riding!!

  8. is it always this tough to find other people ride with, or am i just unlucky?

Bola, Crave2Carve, D.T., Pcogan, Philistine, Snowboardsfast, myself, and Rusty, whom just moved here from N.H.,

to name a few. Most of us work during the week, but we do get up on the weekend, at least one day. I ride primarily at

loveland, though I plan to ride at beaver creek at least enough to cover the cost of my colorado pass. I know that crave2carve rides alot during the week, but he lives in summit county. Pcogan and I will be at loveland tomorrow if you are interested.

  9. -Pour lighter fluid on your board and set it on fire.

-Don't wear any clothes and cover yourself in animal blood.

    Now this

    -Bring your pet skunk.

-Iron a patch onto your jacket that says "got syphilis?"

-Tie 38 lobsters onto individual strings about 4' in length and tether them to your bindings (do TD's come with a lobster tether?). Don't feed them for a week before boarding and just before going riding insult their mothers with phrases like "your mama's roe stinks like flowers" or "your mama's claws are symetrical". Aint nothin worse than 38 pissed off lobsters. The lift line is yours.

All of these have worked well for me in the past, although the last one can backfire so bring a can of raid and a handgun if going for the attempt.

Now this is the Ericj I have come to admire :biggthump You are one sick and twisted individual, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Please keep your demented posts coming, they are some of my favorites. Do not seek professional help

  10. I had someone named "stinky powder ma" pop up in a few auctions in the past, drive the price up in the last hour, and disappear. They did not seem to really want the item, but that is speculation on my part. I always felt it was a little fishy.

  11. Cool clean mountain air, polluted by the smoker in the chair ahead of you. I used to be that guy,and I had no clue of the effect I was having on others, I was outside in the fresh air. I smoked for fifteen years, and quit ten years ago. I feel like I have five more years of pennance (lasped catholic) before I can tell others how I really feel about thier second hand smoke :
