I agree with Byran. I started carveing last season and served an apprenticeship with several bol riders, and I have come along way from those first tenative turns on a 159 Rossi. I am on a 179 donek now, and i am looking foward to another fun season.
more turns

I have watched my weight creep up for more than a few years now, and I really went Jabba the Hut after I got off of the evil nicotine. I have seesawed between 195 and 255 for the last 11 years despite multiple diets, and many miles of running and bike riding, so it has not been for lack of trying or laziness on my part. The thought of 200cm tanker at cost, and my pool winnings might just be the ticket to get myself over the hump and see my bathroom scale read under 200lbs for the first time in a very long time. :D

Squats, yoga, fitball and my mountain bike. Judging on how I felt during my first day yesterday, it is going to be a good season. I was even able to get up from my heelside(butt) without any problems despite my girth.

on how we perceive ourselves as human beans. As Jeffrey Day points out the poll here has nothing to do with an occupation yet, this is how most of us are identifying ourselves (as well as stating ages). It's hard for me to imagine that a person's occupation is what THEY think most defines who they are. Especially, when the poll doesn't ask for this information.
Our jobs are how we make money to provide needed living expenses. And, jobs and income can come and go at any time. What remains constant in our lives is how we each spend our lives pursuing life, sports, and good health. I try to focus on those things rather than how I make a paycheck.
Mark
I noticed that too, and found it quite odd. I have often wonderd why people use their occupations to define whom they are. Enough waxing philospohic, 42.5 year old hairybacked fat  guy riding off and on since '92, 2nd season on plates

Larry is the best!! Plan a trip to boulder, see larry, go to chataucua(sp?)grab some tappas at the mediteranian... it is well worth the trip to the peoples republic. Besides, whats more important? a little extra driving, or a sublime bootfit?

I have the loveland pass, colorado pass, and I am going to pick up the Aspen classic pass later this week. There are some sceaming deals for front range riders/skiers. The above passes will give me unlimited at Lovey, keystone, a-basin, and breck, 10 days at vail/beaver creek, and 4 at aspen for less than 750 bucks. It would be nice if I didn't have to work...

Brighton. Try not to get to far from the mouse trap,(I-25/I-70 interchange)
unless you like miles and miles of rolling prairie. The wide open spaces can be a bit oppresive to those from some of the more verdant parts of the country, though there can be some screamin' housing deals that you may not be able to find closer in.

I am one of the carvers at loveland, most people don't like it because it's cold, but at least it's windy(sorry pete). It's close, smallish, but not terribly crowded, unless there are a few busloads of crashers for christ there(church
groups from kansas, oklahoma, or texas) on the mountain. If yoyu are early enough, you can usually park (free!!!!) within 50 yards of the lift. A pass will cost you $279, a heck of a deal. I have a loveland pass, and my wife is getting me a colorado pass for christmas( I know this because they only sell it in the spring).

Golden is a sweet little town, that much closer to the hills with lots of biking/hiking/hang gliding ect. ect....Your commute would be 45min plus or minus. Arvada and Wheatridge are decent places, they both have older neighborhoods as well as suburban sprawl. The highlands are located just to the north of downtown, while the tech center forms(for now) the southern end of the metro area. Let me know what other areas you are considering and I'll try to give you some details on them. Just try to not get too far north or east, it makes the drive to the hills that much longer.

My wife's tdi bug gets 43+ combined driving, but under 40 if i'm driving . It is a 5 speed, and it is fast and a blast to drive. Oh, by the way Scott and Holly, it is in your best interest to get in touch with your inner nascar driver while cruising around in north jersey. Those people are nuts!!! I know because I used to be one of them, but i'm feeling much better now.

This post is not meant to hack off any of you snow deprived east or west coasters, but
LOVELAND ROCKED TODAY!! a week and a half ago there were like 4 trails open, 2 lifts and a 20 inch base. I woke up this morning, checked the snow report, and saw that there was 5" fresh, 40"+ base, and they had opened up just about the entire mountain!! Pcogan and myself had most of the groomers to ourselves early on, and as the crowds began to grow, the ski patrol opened up more terrain. We put the race boards away, and began our quest for virgin powder. We found enough to sate our appetites for now, but we wanted to save some for tomorrow. We quit around 11:30, the crowds were staring to get a little thick. If anyone is interested, there will be a few of us at the bottom of lift 1 @ 8:30 tomorrow morning. The weather forcast is for sunshine and 38 degrees. That coupled with all the open terrain and new snow point to an epic day. Lets have a Loveland expression session tomorrow!
