  1. I had the same problem......another reason for my change. I used some ski socks with a thicker cushion on the shin and this helped much. Be careful not to get socks that are too thick - they will bunch bind and rub/friction burn or even blister your shins. A delicate balance must be struck.
  2. I thinks I sold you my 325's?? Hope they are treating you well. I moved to 700T last spring when Fin had them marked down - I found that the AF shell of the 700's had a more relaxed but more progressive flex. Works for me. I'm an equipment junkie so I end up buying and trying ..... nice when I can sell and recoup a little. Glad you could take advantage!!
  3. Coilers: Schtubby & Monster AlpinePunk: MetalBurner!!
  4. After all this I bought a soft setup from Hardbooters.com - Deezluxe GTS soft boots.......Nice change and I don't think I would have enjoyed the pow and crud quite as much. I am a certifiable Equipment Junkie ....Admitting the problem is the first step. I'll be stuck hauling it all along
  5. My experience with this service is very mixed......They often charge for every exchange....$5-10 a shot!!!! I've also watched my board be recklessly tossed into a rack. No Thanks Anyone use a lock with success??? Where did you find it??
  6. Like many, I travel with several boards. How do you secure your boards slope-side? Does anyone worry about or have you experienced theft? Hate to run back to the hotel for every switch.
  7. It would be nice to have a heel pad with a softer material - better traction on smooth wet surface and a little thicker to save the board when exiting a lift.....Fin???? Otherwise beautiful execution!!
  8. Just returned from a week at Big Mountain, MT. Through this thread and the ride board I made contact with the Doc. In spite of my missing him the first day, he was kind enough to persist and find me on the last day. Mountain tour, introductions and he let me ride his 4807 - much snow last week!! Another testament to the fine people and contacts that can be made here Yes Doc, a 4807 is on the way :D
  9. I will email you for contact info at Big Mtn. Almost bought the 4807.........the chance to supporut a hardboot shop pushed me toward the Tanker....there's a swallow tail in my future but not sure which one???????
  10. Thanks to all again.. A Tanker 200 is on the way form Dave at Hardbooter.com Heading out to Big Mountain next week....prayin for snow!!!!
  11. :DI know similar threads have appeared....still I have gleaned more good insight. Still love the HB's....now with BTS and soft springs they should be great. Trying to decide between a Tanker, 4807, or other Swallowtail. Afraid the swallow tails may be too specific for lift served areas though great for the Heli trip I'm planning next year. Can I have too many boards.......dumb question here!
  12. I'll email or post here while I'm there! Thanks Much:D
  13. OK OK....I get it with the boots. I should have been more specific.........I'm looking for board suggestions. Any big old fat floppy board from Joes' Sportin Goods and Bait Shop or.........are the so called "All Mountain" carve boards - Donek Axxess, Prior ATV/4WD...... Any of these better????
  14. Opinions on powder setups? I prefer hardboots.....put soft boots on a couple years ago and hated 'em. I started boarding to CARVE and never really developed any desire for soft setups. I have an old Burton Amp 6.0.....end up folding it in half in all but the deepest snow. I live in midwest and rarely ride in real powder. But, I'll be spending extended time in CO this winter. So I may actually ride some real powder. Also planning a Heli Trip to BC next year with a group of local skiers and I'd prefer the board. Will attend the SES for a day or two so may be able to test there. Anyone out there riding powder in Hardboots???
  15. I'll be at Big Mtn 26 Dec - 2 Jan; a little family Vacation. Lookin' for advice .....Local carvers .....Conditions?????
  16. Glad you had a good night. New snow and great snowmaking efforts - conditions should be very good. For those who haven't tried Granite Peak I would encourage all to give it a chance. I've skiied or carved throughout the midwest and I think we have about the best available. Sure, it isn't the mountains but it's accessible and well run. I have 6 weeks planned out west this year :) Try to make SES for a day or two. Big winter for me. Still have a season pass at Granite Peak; contact me here if you're coming!
  17. Conditions are very good though a little cold. Should be better Wed. On-Call/Working on Wed so I won't make it out And I'm waiting for my new FinTec heels - sold my intecs with my boots - new setup this year. I'm stuck skiing until they get here. Able to carve with a few folks last year. All welcome and contact me if possible. I'll try and provide appropriate hardboot hospitallity.
  18. Boots and Bindings SOLD! Any interest in the Boards?????
  19. Not Sure......they are not printed on the board. It's 172cm long and the GS version. Can't commit to anything else. You may try the Carvers Almanac - they often list some info. I'll look and see if I can find anything.
  20. emails responded! I think both bindings are SOLD. Boots are in great shape. Liners near perfect and odor free! I never heat molded the liners - they slowly conformed. Used from mid-Jan through season end mid-March. Selling because I bought 700T's during the sping sale.

Make offers!
  22. MD as well - Cardiac and General Anesthesia.....The Gas Man aka Dr. Feel Good. Can't say I'd recommend medicine as a profession either, though it pays for my toys, habits and obsessions. I do have admin BS - VP of our private group and too many headaches. Met a Doc while on a lift in Big Sky, MT several years ago. He worked 1 wk on-1 wk off. I should have been smarter..........
  23. Need advise. I just purchased an Epic Pass (Vail, BC, Breck, Keystone.....)for next year. I'm trying to locate a long term rental for 1 Feb- 7Mar 2009. I know Vail and BC fairly well, but, the price is restrictive. I found some pretty good options at Keystone, but, I haven't been there in 10+ yrs. I'm going to Carve mostlyhttp://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/images/smilies/lol.gif my wife and kids, 3 & 5yrs old, will be skiing. Any thoughts on resorts, carve locations, rentals or mountain info is appreciated. I will be driving to the SES for that week - of course! Bill
