  1. here is ebays take on shill bidding http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-shill-bidding.html It's against there policy and they ask that you report it
  2. I have a Madd that i compressed the edge on so looking for a new ride. If you change your mind. I will buy this board
  3. the board is used. i am not sure what year. i have had if for probally 3 years. I only rode it once or twice last year. Spent most of the year riding madd 170 and my other volkl cross 160. the board has scratches on the top deck and a nick on the tail. I am going away for the weekend so will try and post some pictures when i get back
  4. If anyone is interested I have Volkl Cross 165 or 167. $270 brand new is a good price. As you discovered they are hard to find
  5. I recieved this email from the SKi Club I belong to. The person who forwarded it recieved it as part of an email from a state ski council Rep. ---- RE: Killington, the estimate could have been a result of a number of things. First, they probably just took last year's price and increased it by $2 since pretty much every other mountain in the area went up by $2. The bottom line is that Killington never mentioned prices to anyone - NJ, MetNY, CT, Eastern PA. There were NO details given to anyone. And when they came out with the final position last week to abolish the bulk ticket program, they gave the same message to everyone. I have spoken to original Killington people as well as new management several times, and they do not believe in discounted tickets. I had a lengthy conversation with one of the new sales managers there, and he told me the following: Killington intends to "thin out" the large crowds. They don't want any more 20,000 days because they think it is an awful experience. They want the mountain to be more exclusive for the people that are willing to pay for it. They want to shift people over to ticket methods for which they can better estimate attendance on any given day. For example, there is currently virtually no activity in the group sales office. They want to switch people over to groups so that they know who is coming and also to coordinate lodging. They also want people to invest in season's passes (for which the uptake has been extremely good for them already this year). Of course there will always be transient activity, but they don't want every day to be a crapshoot. Bulk tickets don't give them any transparency on potential attendance. The new management just doesn't believe in discounted tickets. They don't see the need for it. They think they're doing just fine with their season's passes and full price tickets, and people that stop going to Killington because there is no discount are helping fulfill the original objective mentioned above. Thank you for the offer to help, Susan, but there is nothing that anyone can do. The decision is final, and it will be sent out in writing this week. There will be NO special discount for any Councils - not via bulk ticket, via standing discount, anything. If people want a discount, they'll need to look into ME tickets and season's passes. Killington and Pico tickets will be exchanged 1-for-1 with no upgrade fee, and those tickets must be used this year. There will be no returns at the end of the season. After this year, bulk tickets will be no more
  6. gleb mabye i will see you next year at okemo. got up to killington at about 10:30 thursday night. lots of new snow. should be a good day tomorrow.
  7. yes it was the infamous or famous willywit. I was at Okemo Friday, Killington Saturday and Okemo again Sunday. The conditions were great!!!! I saw Woody, amy and 2 other carvers on needle eye from the gondy. Saw a few other at snowdon. At Okemo I ran into 'gleb'(not sure i got the name right) and Chis forgot his last name who i did a few runs with. It is sad it has to end Cathy will you make it 100...
  8. i am glad i ran into the jolly yellow giant and Noah in the car park. They convinced me to take a few more runs. As always Cathy it is fun to ride with you(87 and counting??). Angie i did see you wave from the lift. I will be up again on Friday. Hope to ride again with you all next year.
  9. i have been going to killington for the past 10 years for MLK weekend and Presidents and Xmas for the past 7. I have also been on regular weekends and midweek. For the past 3 years i have organised a group of my buddies. we arrive Sunday early and leave Tuesday. Weekdays at Killington are deserted unless it is a holiday week. Local knowledge helps as there are long traverses between peaks. That said there is lots of careable terain for all levels as already noted in previous post. I am not sure about the attitudes factor. I have not come across it. I like idea of Stowe. It sucked at Xmas this year but it looked like it had possibilities. I am surprised that no one has mentioned that Okemo is not to far down the road from Killington.
  10. you pick the one weekend that i had already made plans to be at killington. have fun. it was a blast last year
  11. I was there for one day last year with my daughter. Had a blast!!
  12. got there around 4:00pm and rode until about 9:30pm. Later temps dropped quickly and it got windy. tons of kids on snowboards just straight lining it. Do not recall the runs but they were fine as you said large arched turns. I ran into a Korean riding plates on an Alp 63. Said he learned to ride in Korea. I am not sure he understood me. also ran into college kid on a proto. she said she races for her college. some kid in the lift line asked me if i was on an alpine board. It is a volkl cross with lift plates. i was in soft boot but ride with front and back both at 45. His comment was how do you ride like that. he did say that he ravces alpine as well. i think he was with the college kid. Not a whole lot open but that had tons of guns going and probally will have most open by the weekend
  13. thanks. hopefully i do not get blow away or freeze
  14. Any update on the conditions at Blue mtn. Probally heading up there tonight.
  15. A couple of folks i work with are going to go to Blue on Thursday night. Any idea what the conditions are like?
  16. for the past 3 years been riding a volkl cross 160, salmon spx6, malamutes and volkl lift plates. i ride 45/45. sometimes would boot out on heal side turn when the binding cup would catch. i enjoyed carving on this setup. i started on a hardboot setup this xmas on a madd 168. been lots of fun as well with both setup by the end of the day my feet and legs are sore.
  17. and went to heaven. I hope i can handle the the conditions. I will be with my wife and 2 kids so getting away on my own is not an option. i will keep my eyes open for fellow carvers. I arrive Thursday night next week.
  18. I am headed there next week for about 4-5 days of riding. I was looking to spend 2 days at each mountain. Which mountain do you think is better and any suggested runs for carving?
